Thank you to everyone who came to this year's festival. We hope you enjoyed yourselves.
Make sure you put next year's dates in your diary: 19-24 May 2025.
If this was a normal year a few volunteers would be on Jesus Green, with tape measures, string, paint and lasers, marking out the site. I don't want to miss out, so I'm building a beer festival at home.

With a heavy heart we must cancel this year’s Cambridge Beer Festival on Jesus Green.
We urge everyone to continue supporting their local pubs, breweries and cidermakers who, like many businesses, have struggled over the past few years.

It’s time to announce the Cambridge Beer Festival 2023 British beer list.

Cambridge: we need your help!
We have over 20,000 pints of British beer remaining today. That's 183 different cask beers.
Plus international beer, cider, perry, mead, wine and cheese.
Can you give us a hand to drink it?

At the start of
#VolunteersWeek
, we'd like to thank the 400+ volunteers that set up, run and take down the Cambridge Beer Festival. We may have closed to the public last Saturday, but it's taken until today to clear the site!

Our posters have arrived! Over the next few weeks our team will be out and about delivering them to pubs, festivals and other likely places. Let us know if you spot one 🙂

After yesterday's marking out, today we'd have been starting the real build. First it's the roadway, to reduce the damage to the grass. Mine isn't that great, so we'd have been using a contractor: Advanced Portable Roadway

Lunchtime sessions are a great way to explore the beer while it's a bit quieter at the festival.
The site conditions are definitely improving, but boots are still recommended.

Can you put up a festival poster in your window or local noticeboard? You can collect them from our festival organiser at the following pubs:
Fri 7 April, Haymakers, 5-6pm
Sun 9 April, Live & Let Live, 5-7pm
Tue 11 April, Engineers House, 7:30-9pm
Our volunteer cellar team has begun the important work of checking the beer is in the best possible condition. They're looking at the appearance, carbonation, temperature, smell, and taste as the indicators of beer that is ready for you to drink.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life and backgrounds. Here's what happens when you have a professional florist on the team. Thanks
@CKenwardFlowers
for making our volunteering tent look so much better!
The rain has already stopped, there's no queues at the bar, plenty of beer and cider remaining, the family tent activities are under way, brass band setting up for 1pm, and the LGBT+ event is open.
See you soon!
#cbf2024
We're starting Saturday with 173 of our British beers remaining.
Don't forget that we have two rows of stillaging - you might need to have a look below the line of the bar to see everything that's available!

Congratulations to
@TriplePointBrew
- Zephyr has been voted beer of the festival by our customers. Thanks to all who cast their votes.

Pictured is our cellar manager, finalising the vote counting.
If you volunteer, we give you all the training you need. Here, one of our bar managers has just started to brief some of our bar team. In the background, some of our cellar team carry out last minute checks on beer quality.
Come and join us! Volunteers have more fun!

We've over 50 different cheeses at the festival, and cheese and beer are fantastic together. Here are some ideas on how to match your beer with your cheese.

A combination of the Covid-19 pandemic, Brexit, and other factors have led to unresolvable supply chain issues for critical elements of the festival infrastructure. We are working to explore our options for next year.
This year we'll have the largest range of low and no-alcohol beer we’ve ever offered, featuring 21 beers from eight producers across five different countries. And for the first time, two of these will be available on draft.
Congratulations to
@wintersbrewery
! This afternoon Fusioneer was judged to be the Champion Mild of East Anglia.
Available now at

while stocks last.
It's mild month! A sweeter beer, often lower in strength, typically with dark fruit, chocolate, caramel, and coffee flavours.
Here's all the mild we've ordered for the festival.

We keep ourselves busy even when it's eight months until the next festival! Last weekend we were maintaining some of our site equipment to ensure it's ready to go next May.
We've published this year's festival programme. It features our British beer list, with beer style, gluten-free and vegan-friendly indicators, as well as tasting notes.

On Tuesday we hosted the Cambridgeshire Cider Competition. The winners the judges selected are all available at the festival today.
