Further developments: Understand #DartfordFC unwilling to pay compensation to bring Russell to club. Believed there’s a break clause in his contract in case #Lewes are mathematically unable to reach playoffs. Lewes are currently 11th in Isthmian Prem, 5 points from playoffs.

Good move this. Attendances have dwindled since the youth membership scheme and so has the atmosphere. Could possibly have been made sooner, but it’s better than no action at all. Understandable that u18s for free wouldn’t be sustainable for long.

Was always going to be a near impossible feat to avoid defeat in this game. What’s most annoying is that such a game was made a must win by failing to beat the teams around us. Most likely relegated before kicking a ball on the 20th.

I do feel quite bad for him, we’ve played some of our best football of the season in spells but he ultimately hasn’t been given enough time to get things going, especially joining a sinking ship at the stage he did.
