For my bday weekend in NYC, we have reservations at a restaurant that 1) doesn't have a website or any internet presence other than a phone number; 2) only takes reservations by phone; & 3) has menus the owner writes by hand, in cursive. Honestly charmed by all of it

Unpopular opinion: I honestly love miscommunication in books when done well, bc that shit’s real! Human beings, especially ones in new relationships, miscommunicate all the time. If it’s born out of people’s issues & not something that could be solved with 5 words? Give it to me

Miscommunication. As long as it's well done—stemming organically from character wounds, not to service the plot, or something solved by one sentence—watching characters learn how to communicate effectively is one of my favorite parts of reading romance.

A polite request from your friendly neighborhood Jewish sapphic: "holiday" is not synonymous with "Christmas." If you're writing a Christmas romance, it's perfectly fine—& much more inclusive—to use that word to promote your book!
