anyone who has biked in this state knows they sometimes need to take refuge on the sidewalk for their own safety. But only some are punished for it. AB 825 by @ib2_real has been a labor of love for many mobility orgs & I'm proud of the final bill we are sending to the Governor!

“include equity” is redundant here. Reallocating any space from cars (avg ~$10K/yr) to transit and cycling would be an order of magnitude more equitable than our streets are now. Especially in LA where non car users are lower income compared to other cities.

LA City Council voted 13-0 to not approve #HealthyStreetsLA today, but push the initiative off to the March 2024 election - while the Council works on a parallel alternative Safe Streets legislation that would include equity as part of Mobility Plan implementation
