Ethereum is processing the same number of transactions today as a month ago, but the fees are much higher because of a single application and are pricing out all the other users. In my decade+ of working on Operating System kernels, this is called a denial of service bug.

"Block finalization slowed significantly" is a gross understatement of what happened. The network is completely unusable by any end user, and the only on-chain activity are validators submitting votes, all of which are going to be reverted when the restart happens.

Grab yourself a nitrokey and you have a heavily encrypted, and portable password vault. It's API compatible with bitwarden extension as well.

Obviously this isn't foolproof, and in all honesty anything of importance (ie seed phrases) if stored should be encrypted with something like pgp first.
