BIUST Senior Lecturer Dr. Goabaone Gaobotse, has been awarded the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Award. He will be a resident at the Ivy League Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where he will continue his research in Stem Cell Biology. We wish him well.
BIUST PROJECT AWARDED 1.4 MILLION EUROS BY THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION
Dr. Franchi and his Research Team in Planetary and Space Science have been awarded 1.4 million euros project by the European Commission for the creation of a Pan-Africa Planetary and Space Science Network.
The highly anticipated BotSat 1, the first Botswana Satellite, has its preparations underway starting with the ground station assembly. The Containerized Ground Station (CGS) arrived on to the BIUST premises on the 5th of November 2022 and its commissioning is underway.
BIUST LAUNCHED ITS PRODUCTS
BIUST joined hands with the Government of Botswana in mitigating the spread of Coronavirus by undertaking the production of Bar & liquid soaps, Sanitizers, Drone Sprayers and development of a Dashboard for visualisation of COVID-19 cases.
BIUST team continues to disinfect some public spaces using the Drone sprayers to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Today the team was at Palapye Rural Administrative Center.

BIUST and Khoemacau Copper Mine signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), part of the scope of this MoU is to allow the two parties to jointly design the most effective and efficient mineral processing techniques and processing routines.
The University partnered with Morupule Coal Mine (MCM) and the Local Enterprise Authority in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 through the production and provision of hand sanitizers, BIUST Bath soap and liquid soap for the Palapye community and surrounding areas.
The University will release about 297 industry ready graduands under the theme βBuilding a University of Industries through a well-rounded Ecosystem for Economic Transformation and Innovative Entrepreneurship.β
