Non-passing transwomen who feel transphobia should realize that ‘phobia’ is them being treated as a female and being judged against female beauty standards. It’s what you are signing up for. You don’t get to use ‘she’ pronouns and then opt-out of beauty expectations.

@iseult The fact that trans women aren't held to the same standards as women, whether in ice skating, beauty pageants, advertising, sport or ballet, proves that those celebrating such mediocrity don't actually see them as women. It's actually very patronising and infantilising to TW.

@FreyaManslayer Once upon a time, it was addressing medical gaps-in-care for people with intersex and other congenital conditions. It may still be addressing a widespread environmental endocrine disrupter epidemic. But the political movement isn’t doing much for society as a whole, no.

@ZJemptv Detransition has been an issue since the 90s. Trans medicine spent decades improving screening criteria so it wouldn’t happen, because it’s often grim. Now that ‘affirming’ models have dismantled screening requirements, detransition rates are spiking.
