But ODD is a wildly wrong way to describe them. Even from a purely medical perspective, most kids with ODD meet the criteria for ADHD, so something is clearly going on there. But another way, anyone who was ever neurodivergent in school might call ODD "symptoms" the default.

I don't like this trend of people calling trans mascs "birthday boy" for I guess... Expressing mild annoyance? The "birthday boy" post was about a dude who would deliberately pick fights and then backpedal rapidly but that's never what's happening in these interactions.

Know exactly how this went down: Kid said he was a lesbian girl. Parents were like "yeah, sure. That's weird but we still love you." Little while later, kid comes out as trans. Parents shoot back like "why can't you just be gay? This is a big decision. <young healthy breasts>"

If a child feels unsafe enough in their own home to have to call the police, the issue is not the child, the issue is the parents. This comes off, in my opinion as child abuse apologism and, as a survivor of abuse myself, I am sickened at this retroactive justification for it.

I don't think a lot of people realise that if you're in a marginalised group you're constantly doing the "safe/unsafe" calculation with people you meet, and such signals really help us out. Issue is that some people don't feel safe or unsafe. They feel disgusted.
