Honestly, these measures may help meet short-term annual targets. The bigger concern is to reduce the backlog growing left, right and centre. Probably, the only option is to stop intake for a year or two to process existing apps in the system.

Canada's immigraton system is broken for every line of business. This is so disheartening. @SeanFraserMP cannot offer a roadmap to backlog reduction without a clear plan to get @CitImmCanada back into the offices & at their desk working. There is no other way out. #cdnimm

I can file client PR +TR applications on-line. But I cannot file client citizenship applications on-line. Why @IRCC are you forcing applicants to add to your paper backlog? I thought the mandate was to modernize? #cdnimm #A2J 1 step forward, 2 steps back. ⚖️⚖️⚖️

Arm you clients with OIC, IRPA definition of family member. Just had to explain to @CanBorder that common law partners are considered immediate family. Also include all evidence via @CitImmCanada that they are eligible to enter as temp. Residents. #dual intent, inland WP policy.
