I wonder if NYT knows the damage it’s doing to its reputation among those who value journalistic integrity. I would wager there is no writer who pursues the “the truth” with more discipline, rigor, and thoughtfulness than SSC. It's a big reason for his passionate following.

I think what galls me the most about the NYT fixing to dox Scott Alexander is (1) there was no journalistic reason for it, and (2) the NYT already has a policy that would have allowed them to behave honorably here. Instead they chose to be a bully.
