Things Australians are thinking:
OMG, how could this have happened?
How is the poor baby doing?
That Cop/ Bystander/ Lifeguard/ Bollard Guy is a hero
Thank God he didn’t have a gun
Who did this?
Why?
Things we aren’t thinking:
Why doesn’t everybody have a gun?
@guardian
You’re reading too much into it. This was a case of one man against one woman, not all women against all men. Amber does not represent “all women” and she is not the only victim
Men can also victims of domestic violence are far less likely to report it.
@DrVicFielding
@ThePosieParker
This should be the go to response for anyone who claims “my daughters are being forced to watch men undress”
If every woman who’s tall, broad shouldered, or has large hands/feet or a square jaw is being accused of being male, can you imagine how bad it must be for trans people?

For those of us who didn’t grow up on the coast, this works with trees, bush, forests, rivers, lakes, parks, grassland, deserts, hills and fields too.

The fact the book is based on 20 years of questions from teens to Dolly Doctor, is apparently lost on them.
I used to read Dolly Doctor, because my parents didn’t have the answers to my questions.
Kids felt safer asking HER the questions they couldn’t ask their parents.

It was a court order. There isn’t much anyone can do. No one at Facebook or Meta is going to jail to protect your “privacy”.
Much wiser to keep your private dealings off social media or anywhere it can be retrieved or accessed by anyone other than you and the recipient.

Teachers aren’t paid enough as it is and now you want them to be armed bodyguards?! When is America going to face facts and deal with your gun control issues

Frankly, anybody at this point. I’d bring back Harold Holt tomorrow, over the empty vessel we’ve got now
Although, Gough would be my choice if, for no better reason than to see the looks on the IPA’s faces 😂

I’ve tried avoiding them, I’ve tried to be polite, I’ve tried to be direct, I’ve tried lecturing them, I’ve even tried to be rude.
Even shouting “YOU, STAY AWAY FROM ME” didn’t work

I lived in a small town with only 1 doctor. For him to refuse to prescribe contraceptives for religious reasons or, for the only pharmacy to refuse to sell them, for the same reason, was hugely problematic

Also talk about “adults” who pressured her into making false accusations and “adults” who gave her family money and effectively bought her silence.

Why bother paying to “promote” this if you’re just going to hide it behind a paywall?
In future, why not link all your posts to the subscribe page and leave it at that?

Why shouldn’t he be at the White House, his father is President? You were ok with Trump’s daughter and Son-in-law taking high paid White House jobs.
When Morrison pulls his white knight act and suddenly pulls RAT tests out of his back pocket, remember THIS is where he’s getting them from and why you couldn’t find any

I’m assuming it’s an investment property (or two) but why, on $440K a year, an extra $8K would make that much difference? I can’t fathom.
Also, why would the Tele, choose them as “victims”? Was it that she was blond and pretty, so they thought it would fly?

Their idea of an “energy policy” was to do absolutely nothing and hope the “free market” would sort it out.
If they’d done the logical thing and legislated to set aside 15% of gas production for the local market, like WA did, they wouldn’t be in this mess

Women don’t always get a choice, in the matter. If men stopped expecting and demanding sex from all their dates and using force, abuse and threat of violence to get their way.
Men should learn to take no for an answer, instead of an opportunity to “try harder”
@guardian
Banning sex ed before grade 7 is ridiculous. Some girls start menstruating before they’re 10, and girls have even given birth at age 9. Sheltering children from the facts of life just risks pushing them into the hands of exploitative sex abusers

Another good reason to put down “no religion” on the census. Time the bible thumpers were forced to acknowledge that parliament isn’t just for Christians
They should pray on their own time

Independence Day and Bastille Day honours the people of their respective nations who revolted and threw off the shackles of oppression to become independent republics.
Australia hasn’t reached that level yet and we never will be, while we’re still tied to mummy’s apron strings.

It’s pretty clear what happened. Everyone and their dog knows AZ was the cheapest, easier to transport and store, and could be manufactured in Australia.
It must have seemed like such an obvious no brainer, they failed to develop proper contingencies until it was too late

Fatal mistake. He wasn’t actually asking for his opinion. He doesn’t care what his workers think.
He was actually asking: “give me one good reason not to fire you”

Spare me your hysterical pearl-clutching. Not talking about it doesn’t make sex disappear, it just makes it easier for abusers to exploit them.
