(6/10) If you’re planning to use genre hashtags, make sure they’re relevant to the story. Make sure you’re utilising every character, so don’t waste unnecessary space on numerous, similar tags. We should be able to gauge the genre from the pitch anyway.

(4/10) The hook. Try and focus on the hook that will draw readers in. Similar to the tagline on a book, the hook should be able to be summed in a couple of sentences. Keep it simple and stick to the basics.

@morglourussell For me personally, and the wider agency, we prefer to know if there are plans for a series. Especially when querying fantasy fiction of any kind. There's really no right or wrong answer. It's just helpful to know, especially when reading a full.
