10/10/2012. I was up early! Holding my son in one hand, I checked the @NobelPrize website on my iPhone4🤭! And, there it was 👇 - what a magical moment! After initial celebrations, I rushed to update my faculty applications – all three of my referees were Nobel laureates now! 3/n

Let me rewind a bit. I always wanted to return home after my PhD & post-doctoral work. Our son was born in Sep. 2012 @DukeHospital and we knew that the moment has arrived! I started preparing my applications for a faculty position in India - a dream that I had all along! 2/n

As a graduate student, learn to communicate your science effectively! The key is to practice, practice again, and then practice some more! Nobody becomes a master speaker on day one - most of us have learnt it over time and still learning! Be confident and believe in yourself!

More than 600 students, from all branches of engineering, learning some biology. Teaching LIF101 course @IITKanpur is absolute fun every single time. And, that non-stop clapping for a couple of minutes after the last class - priceless 🙏. Thank you students - you are amazing 🙏.
