UK Election: LGBT+ folk, the Lib Dems are the best major parliamentary party for our interests in England.
Please do all you can to make sure that the Labour government are held to account by an Opposition that has stood by our community solidly. 🔶🏴🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🙏

It is the staggering breach of adults' rights that astounds me. Next they'll be saying everyone is legally beholden to the landowner who encounters them most often.
@scattermoon
It just occurred to me that this is not far off how passport ID verification is done, so I was not exaggerating.
"Well, before I let you apply for this course/job/prescription, I need a note from someone on this list of professionals to say you're allowed..."

The Galli were similar to trans women, in that they wore long hair and had female coded dress; but castration was relatively common for health complaints, as today, and there were plenty of cisgender eunuchs about... one, Narses, conquered Italy for Justinian the Great.
Things not to be ashamed of: disability, sex, gender, circumstances of birth, fetish, subsistence, weakness, poverty, subjection to violence, grief, love...
Things to be ashamed of: corruption in public office, despoliation of the Earth, violation of others, vexation of harmony.

100%. It also connects with his Norse tattoos, which attempt the same thing (namely, a pre-industrial sense of belonging/meaning). European medieval historians have been firing on all cylinders trying to deny the fascists that symbolism this week.
I have returned from Mexico, having got my medical treatment.
I am very happy with the work. It appears to have solved my medical issues as predicted and hoped.
I am exhausted by culture shock and fatigue, and will be resting till New Year.

Yes... but delegitimising racist historiography is important too. E.g., in Martin Bernal's 'Black Athena: the Afroasiatic roots of classical civilisation'. It helps open up academic platforms and the Arts. It helps weaken the social reproduction of white supremacist instincts.

& I should probably clarify that what I mean by this is how he perceives things --- like, it wasn't contemporary Native American internet art or non-white-owned business-corporate IP that he selected to misappropriate.
@9BillionTigers
It's also telling how ritual non-consensual infant circumcision is permitted "on religious grounds", but a trans person possessing a spiritual identity is not afforded the same group religious self-determination exception.
Controversial opinion of the day: child circumcision is abuse of bodily autonomy, & the operation should be offered without pressure at the Gillick Competence point, not forced by parents. (I say this as someone cut as an adult, so I'm not anti-circumcision, just pro-body rights)
I will not share pics until it is healed (8 weeks).
I will only share with folk who are either intimate with me, or seriously engaged in seeking the same treatment, and anxious to understand more without anywhere else to turn.

If conservatives were really anxious about the "plummeting" birth rate they'd quadruple child benefit/tax credits, abolish student debt, guarantee housing, etc etc etc.
Sick to the back teeth of pro-natalist medical policies with no pro-child-welfare social policies.
I have blocked all communications from my sister. I cannot take her transphobia any more, and she cannot be reasoned with. Once again I'm grieving that my life is so far from perfect that 'decent' is unwinnable. Estrangement is painful, but radicalised hate needs a social penalty
@JayHulmePoet
Snails were medieval symbol for bankers (rootless, carrying their homes around with them... nibble people's food crops), so I initially read this entirely allegorically as throwing the moneychangers out of the Temple.
@AdamBienkov
Voting Tory would be an act of self harm for any LGBT+ person... but Starmer's Labour looks to us like having to eat excrement right now. What a choice.
[Me, answering a DM about my surgery]: "I will see what the vibes are when I'm healed. If there is the right sort of atmosphere I may post pictures in some places, or for certain people. Being a sexual minority doesn't mean I'm public property".
Worth repeating as a PSI.
Because there's a court case at the Old Bailey on 19 April on this topic, I am going to inoculate you against the right-wing press onslaught.
1) Q: Why do men go backstreet to get orchidectomies etc?
I'd be well pleased if the concept of 'gender affirming procedure' was abolished completely, & we just had full bodily autonomy. You don't owe anyone your reasons. Does an art supplier demand to know if you are a PreRaphaelite or an Expressionist? No. You get the paint on asking.
Things I hate:
People using 'mutilation' to mean 'bodily diversity I personally find icky' as opposed to 'bodily changes the person did not consent to'.

@SmallFlameBoi
You forget panic alarms & sanitary waste bins. We disabled folk get them as standard... it's hardly an imposition. Safeguarding should safeguard everyone.
Not having balls makes urinals really easy(!)
Should make a meme... urinal efficiency with extent of male genital ablation. Circumcision makes it easier... castration even more... then 'kerplunk' -- according to friends folk with penectomies find it much trickier...
WP are going to find this difficult, until you get past a threshold of historical & cultural awareness where you find that the good stuff has always involved non-white people. Liberation only hurts if you're a fragile kleptocrat. Have faith in abolition, even if you are scared.
Does anyone else have the nursery rhyme going round their head?:
London's burning! London's burning! Fetch the engines! Fetch the engines! Fire! Fire! Pour on water! Pour on water!
Tomorrow = 6 month castration anniversary. Fought for treatment for torsions/ inflammation/ autoimmune explosion 5 years in 🇬🇧 before I fled to 🇲🇽. I'd been on the strongest opioids. I collected my T today from the pharmacy -- remarked I haven't touched painkillers in 6 months.
Off to attempt to do 5km in the pool. Why am I even saying this? -- It isn't like anyone will know if I do or don't, and someone else will do less, and someone else more. Why am I even doing it? Who's the audience?

@LaurakBuzz
It is telling the BBC used the word 'eunuch' -- a reified Mediterranean concept -- for something somewhere else in the world with its own name and tradition that was always articulated very differently.
I was just on a videocall with The Journalist: we have been bought by either Channel 4 or ITV (bidding war). So I will be on your screens on national TV next year, speaking about the persecution the UK eunuch community faces, about how men requiring urological care are persecuted
@setoacnna
And after us, they will move onto women, trades unionists, academics, showmen, artists, journalists, opposition politicians, and finally anyone at random just to maintain the state of Terror fascism demands.
