my sw was roughly 138 lbs and i was bmi 22-23 at the time. this was june 2023. i started a 1600 calorie deficit as according to my bmr and i would burn 200-300 cals at the gym on the treadmill. at the time i had energy to run, so i would do intense short periods of cardio.

i was a vegetarian since before losing weight. i strongly believe switching to vegetarian or vegan diet will make you much more aware of what you eat/less likely to binge. when i first started losing weight, i ate a lot of vegetables, eggs, and fruits. (high protein, low calorie)

i was easily able to lose 15 lbs in july-august from the change in my diet and cardio. i was also walking 5-10k steps a day. by august, i was 122lbs. running in intervals (30-80 seconds) on the treadmill is a great way to burn fat.

so in may, i tried a vegan diet for a month and started going back to the gym. my intake was roughly 1100 cals a day and i would burn 300-500 calories on the treadmill doing 12-3-30 (the holy grail of wl, pls search it up if you don't already know it)

my weight plateaued at 118-120 lbs and i reduced to my deficit to 1400 cals a day. this brought me down to 113 lbs in september, but i wasn’t going to the gym. i generally would get 7k steps in a day. i wasn't dieting or watching what i ate, just eating in moderation.

in october, i lowered my intake to 1200-1300 cals a day, but started being aware of what i was eating. i was only eating fruit, cheese, and vegetables. i also drank coffee every morning before school and skipped breakfast~ this meant i was fasting from morning till 3:00 PM.

november!! i hit 108lbs but could not maintain :( binged for the first time, and started struggling with a binging/restricting cycle. from november-january, my weight went back up to 115 lbs.

january - april i was stuck in a binge/restriction cycle and could not consistently get below 112 lbs. i didn’t go to the gym, and i would fast all morning just to binge at night. this is also when i lost my period - regardless of how skinny you are, you can lose it whenever.

what do i eat now? - protein bars! ana staple ~ these get me through the gym and my days without making the scale fluctuate! - protein milk/drinks, i mix them w/ matcha and they're soo yummy

as someone who fucking loves cheese, taking it out of my diet was super hard😭 unfortunately, foods you ‘eyeball’ to count calories STACK UP. i thought i was eating a lot less then what i really was because i would eat high calorie healthy foods. (avocado, cheese, nuts)

MAY!! i acknowledged i was still unhappy with my weight and body, and began recording videos / taking my 'before' pictures and setting goals. i also became much more aware of nutritional value and my own diet.

- fruit! fruit is hard for me to eat because i obsessively weigh myself and the high liquid content makes me anxious as the scale goes up :( but i prioritize eating watermelon, strawberries, and apples.

june. PROM. prom had me scared😭 i began restricting to 800 cals a day and walking 10k steps minimum + 400-800 cals burnt from cardio at the gym. i reached 103 lbs by prom (mid june) but it was fluctuating through the rest of june to 108.

- I do not eat any butters, oils, or nuts. same with dried fruit. super calorie dense. - final tip - avoid snacking! try to plan out the time frame you'll eat in and what you'll specifically eat.

my current intake is 700 calories (max) but i usually only eat up to 400-500 calories a day. i have a lot of fear foods atm and i’ve been struggling with my mental health. i fast when i have nothing to do, because i collapse/faint regularly after fasting.

by the end of may i was 106lbs quite consistently. the vegan diet also brought me out of my binge cycle as i was so much more aware of the ingredients in the food i ate. (i wouldn’t eat out, and dairy has a lot of cals in it!) switching from whole to almond milk was a life saver!

- vegetables! there are so many low calorie ways to eat/cook vegetables! i personally love baby carrots with hummus, some brands of hummus are 2tbsp for 34 cals!! sweet potato, eggplant, and zucchini are all also super good. i’m a fein for salt and pepper

end of june/july 2024: i’ve recently lost a lot of weight by my standards! i’m currently 100 lbs (45kg) and it has not fluctuated through the weeks. i always get 10-15k steps in through pacing or pointless walks outside lol, and i try to burn 200-400 calories on the treadmill.

overall this started from a really bad break up back last year that fueled my energy at the gym. if you can find a big motivator / reason to 'glow up', absolutely nothing will stop you. my current motivator is moving abroad in august! i want to look slim and chic by then ⋆.ೃ࿔*:

10. i think the last step is super important, practicing being around food alone and eating small or reasonable portions. most importantly, YOU control the food. the food is not making you binge, your emotions are.

2. how does it start? after my ana honeymoon period, 138 - 112lbs, my weight plateaued and i began binging. for me, i would binge to cope with extreme depression and hunger. food can make us feel (temporarily) happy as the nutrients can increase our dopamine/serotonin release.

1. let me start by saying what we’re all thinking; binging is AWFUL. it’s important to acknowledge how disgusting this makes us feel; the bloating, stomach pain, indigestion, and so on. for some, the purging which follows. there’s no glamorizing or changing that fact.

4. when we binge: during high school, i would fast all morning and afternoon, just to binge on anything in the house the second i got home. 4-7PM were my 'trigger hours'. as my depression got worse, i would sometimes binge in the morning before school, and throughout the day.
2

25
3. what we often binge on: it's important to take note of what food triggers a binge. for me, that's ice cream, cheese, bread, chips, or cereal. this is because when you snack on it, you lose track of the amount you ate; thus losing control over your calorie intake.

if you guys ever feel embarrassed about your ed just remember i passed out in the bathroom about to weigh myself at my lw and woke up with my hand and phone in the toilet

6. starting fresh: after sleeping on the binge, and not eating after for 12 hours, the water weight went down. i was still uncomfortably bloated, so i didn't eat that day. the next day, i ate in my regular deficit - 1200 calories. i still felt awful, but it wasn't a binge!

14. consequences of binging: i've stopped binging entirely because it used to affect my relationships. i would dodge my friends constantly to binge, or because i was so bloated from a binge. i would feel miserable in school, lacking energy even after consuming huge amounts.
1
2
24
11. lifestyle changes: i began watching a lot of aesthetic wied/productivity videos on youtube to inspire myself, and i began going to the gym every day. i wouldn't buy food in bulk either, as that used to trigger binges. i only would buy what i needed that day.

i fasted for 48 hrs for the first time and passed out in front of my dad when i got out of bed this morning 💀 how the fuck do yall be doing like 4+ day fasts
1
1
21
8. fasting: i did not fast until a month ago, so fasting is not needed to get out of this cycle. the issue lies in the extremes of eating huge amounts of food to nothing. your energy will always crash and you will always resort to binging to make up for starving.

7. patience: i took pictures every day of my scale morning and evening, and only ate foods i could account every single calorie for. i also wouldn't even look at my 'trigger foods'. i avoided eating with other people, and i went on long walks to distract myself.
1

20
12. additionally, i took a bunch of 'before' pictures. this drove me hard at the gym, and pushed me away from binging. i made binging as inconvenient as possible, never buying foods i loved :( with time, this will change! i can now buy those foods and eat them in moderation.
1

9. over time, my 'binges' went from 2k cals to 1k. to completely overcome binge eating, i changed my diet entirely. i decided to try being vegan in may, and i lost 6 pounds! NOT eating out or around others helped me a lot, as i practiced not binging alone.
1

17
19. helpful images/apps: i used the basic notes app just for my messier thoughts and goals. this is a bad example but i usually delete them once i reach my goals i also use yazio to track my cals, steps, and gym time. it's free and i love it!!

5. how did i stop the cycle?: after my last binge (april), i weighed myself. i took a picture of the number that absolutely horrified me, and wrote down a goal weight that i wanted to reach in the 2 following weeks. i didn't eat anything for the rest of the day, and slept on it.

17. goals, again. whether in your notes app, an organizer, or a piece of paper, WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS. write down a weight goal and calorie goal for every single day of the week, and start again the next week. i find checking off goals super satisfying, and i love organizing.
1
0
17
15. fill your days: i've entirely quit binging mainly by filling my days with activities that will burn calories or keep me busy. i walk everywhere i can (as someone who lives in a walkable city) and it keeps me out of the house. i only ever binge when i'm at home, so this helps
1
0
18
13. set goals: prom was a big motivator for me, i was determined to not binge by the sole drive of weight loss and fitting into the tiny dress i bought. sometimes, it's good to buy something a size smaller that you'll be able to wear once you reach your goals!
1
0
15
16. planning meals: before i eat anything, i write down what and how much i will eat. i also eat very slowly, and i avoid watching videos or distractions while eating so i'm always aware of how much i've eaten.

@walkonaer i’ve been fasting on and off with 400-600 cals a day + burning up to 700 from cardio and steps. sooo i would estimate somewhere around there

5. so i generally get up to 500-600 kcal before hitting the gym, through small snacks throughout the day and the drinks. i try to burn 200 kcal on the treadmill if this is my intake. my fav settings are: 12 incline 3mph 30 min (-300 kcal) 8 incline 4 mph 20 min (-200 kcal)
