When an Advocate representing a client dies, is suspended or is struck off the roll, the client has the sole obligation to give instructions to a new qualified Advocate, or proceed in person. The right to representation in the legal process has not been curtailed at all.

It is one thing to say the Supreme Court Judges should grow thicker skin to criticism by the general public but they should not be asked condone professional misconduct. Insulting Judges is a right a Kenyan has that is not extended to an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

I genuinely think a high quality Criminal Law practitioner appearing before a thoroughly impartial Judge would be able to get John Matara Murder charges reduced to Manslaughter and under 5 years. Criminal Law practice in Kenya is just not lucrative enough to attract such minds.

I'm sorry but no law is supreme to the Constitution. Under no circumstances can any aspect of any law which perpetuates discrimination of children be allowed to breathe in Kenya. Discrimination occurs as part of human nature but it can never be sanctioned by Kenyan Courts.

I continue to hold the position that a decision of the High Court is not binding upon the ELC or ELRC. I say this in reference to the conflicting decisions from Sifuna J and Mboya J on Section 13A of the GPA. As long as the CoA has affirmed neither, both remain valid.

They neither tamed corruption nor invested in country; in fact, they invested in individuals. The difference is that the (corrupt) individuals created exporting manufacturing industries, not apartments.

If the CDFs death was an accident then it is a bigger indictment of our defence forces than if it were a deliberate scheme. Better for it to be deliberate than an accident because an accident just means that we actually have no defence forces. Just jokers in fancy uniform.

I must vote for William Ruto in 2027. I already prepared myself mentally for ten (10) years from 2022 and I now openly come to his rescue when those who put him in power pretend to be disgusted by him. The time for disgust was when he was at ICC, it's too late now.

The Judges of Appeal decided on March 31 that my Appeal lacked merit. Y'all's wishes cooked me. Yesterday I was successful before M'inoti JA on something else though. So I'm currently 1-1 at the CoA. Greet me when you see me in the Appellate Twitter streets.

I applied and got approved for leave to go home today and tomorrow but because of Economics I was not able to. Halfway through dressing up for work ndio nilikumbuka. It would've been hilarious if I actually reported.

Other than a few characters who were trying to force Advocates to vote for a line up, I have been proud of the diversity I have seen in terms of who voters are supporting. Some agree on the JSC Rep but disagree on the President and vice versa. Block voting ni ndoto ya mchana.

No matter how much I grow up, I'll always admire pilots and engineers. I highly respect doctors but I would never want to be one. It remains, Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers and Pilots in that order.

LSK Elections aside, I agree that Fred Ngatia SC is the 'quintessential' lawyer. I don't know him save for the presentations he made in the 2017 and 2022 Presidential Election Petitions but I think he has the best 'oration and diction' in the Kenyan bar by a mile.

On Wednesday I had the opportunity to converse with the current LSK VP Faith Odhiambo on her tenure near the top of the Society's leadership. The efforts to return the society and the bar to stability are commendable and she believes there's still more progress to be made.
