🚨Bit of personal news🚨Pleased to say I'll be working for Sky News on general election night. I will be at the multicount for the Northampton North, Northampton South, Daventry and South Northamptonshire constituencies!
Bit excited!
Absolutely blown away by the response to this. Massive thank you to everyone who's replied, DM'd,texted or rang , sorry if I haven't replied personally. Was feeling really low earlier but brighter now!
@_The72
No, but goalkeeper Ron Robert-Zieler had a loan spell at Northampton Town before going on to be a member of Germany's World Cup winning squad in 2014.
Thank you again everyone for all the support shown. Things just built up and came to a head. Feel very humbled, sorry if I haven't replied personally but I've read all replies, DM's etc and truly appreciate them❤x
🚨Personal news🚨 Quite a proud and surreal moment to have my first byline in a paper and see my name in print! Read my article on Moulton Masters Walking Football Club in this weeks
@ChronandEcho
. Huge thanks to
@TheRealCase
and
@JeffersonLake
for making it possible!

Debating vegan sausage rolls, just wtf is there to debate? If they're not your thing, don't buy them, simples! I'm not a vegan but I'm not crying over something that doesn't effect me. Grow up!
Won't be on social media much over Christmas as it isn't the easiest time for me, so I'll take this opportunity now to wish you all a very merry and peaceful Christmas. See you on the other side x
2/2 while I'm still not completely my normal self, I'm in a lot better place. My head is straight, I'm ready to kick ass, achieve my goals and prove a few people wrong! Let's go! x
And that's a wrap! Last day at college, access course, completed it mate! Come a long way since September and made friends for life!
Next stop - uni in September!
But first - holiday! We go again!
Thinking about how far I've come in the last few years. If someone had said to me when I was working shifts in factories and warehouses that I'd be in London reporting on the Coronation, I would most likely have laughed at them. Never too late to change your life!
🚨Personal news🚨
Now it's sinking in, can say that subject to simply passing the remaining four units to come back at college, I have achieved my first choice uni offer! Absolutely over the moon! The hard work and late nights have paid off!🙂
Just hit me how far I've come in the last few years. Last general election, I went to vote on a grey, wet, miserable December morning before going off to do a 2-10 shift in a factory. Fast forward to this one, and I'll be reporting on it!
If anyone had said to little me when I watched my first Cobblers game at the County Ground that one day I would be watching them from the Sixfields press-box ,I would never have believed them.
Northampton Town v Chelsea U21s in the EFL Trophy.
1/2 As many of you know, I had a bit of a mental health "wobble" over Christmas, I was really not in a good place. I can't thank those who reached out to me enough, far too many to mention but you know who you are.
I've been piecing my head back together over the last month and
Today is the 20th anniversary that my dad passed away. Due to lockdown restrictions, it will be the first anniversary that I don't visit the cemetery on the day, not because I don't want to, but because it doesn't feel right. RIP dad, sleep tight until we meet again xxx
To those who want FA Cup replays scrapped you'd have now denied
@shrewsweb
a thoroughly deserved second bite of the cherry at Anfield, a massive payday and a day their fans and everyone connected to the club will never forget. Football isn't just about the Premier League
#FACup
When the season started on 5th August, if anyone had offered us 10th place at the turn of the year - closer to the play-offs than the bottom four, I'd have snapped their hands off!
#ntfc
1/2 First year at uni - completed it mate! From grades beyond my wildest dreams to working on the World Cup, to Varsity and the Coronation, and getting my first newspaper bylines, I've achieved things I wouldn't have thought possible a few years ago. So grateful for the
My all-time best Northamptonshire XI from players I've seen in my lifetime.
Matthew Hayden
Wayne Larkins
Mike Hussey
Allan Lamb
Alex Wakely
David Capel
David Ripley
Curtly Ambrose
Ben Sanderson
Anil Kumble

Thoughts?
@oldmanradd
, few tough calls!
This massive love in between Bristol Rovers and Barrow, how hilarious would it be if Scunthorpe didn't read the script and leave the Football League with a win - yes I know it won't happen but still!

🚨Personal news🚨
Happy to announce I have been accepted onto the
@JSchofieldTrust
student programme for 2024. Excited to find out who my mentor will be and for the year ahead!
@Journalism_UoN
Mum and dad on their wedding day, 54 years ago today. At the church on the corner of Abington Avenue and Park Avenue North. Reception upstairs at the County Tavern whilst the Cobblers were beating Cardiff 2-0 next door!❤
Had my email confirmation, I'm going to the Lincoln City game 🥳, after nine long months I'll be back at Sixfields! Now keeping everything crossed 🤞 we don't go tier 3 next week!!
#ntfc
@RobSummerfield1
Sky also described Bristol as being the largest city not to have hosted top flight football. Wrong, never had Premier League football, I'm old enough (just 😲) to remember City in Division 1. Football did exist before 1992!
Learning so much on my work experience placement at BBC Sport in Cardiff, really grateful for such a fantastic opportunity, will definitely stand me in good stead when I get to university.
My Welsh has improved massively too! 🏴
Uni year two, completed it mate ✔️
Highlights included presenting my first live radio show, covering my first election count, interviewing my first senior politician and in a few weeks time will cover my first general election.
Year two, over and out, on to third year!
Usually I'm asking Jon Brady or Phil Dowson about injuries ahead of the weekend. Today I interviewed Labour deputy leader, Angela Rayner at an election rally at Old Northamptonians!
Back home, first time since November 27th! Fair bit has happened in that time it could be said!
Completely over the malaise I found myself in and now back to my usual delightful, sarcastic, dreadful pun telling self!🙂

Let's also not forget Vale voted to end the season two years ago when they were breathing down our necks and may well have pipped us to the top seven had it not been for Covid. Hope they win today.
Tom Cruise at the Wimbledon final, Silverstone last weekend. If he's not at Cobblers v West Brom on Wednesday he has some serious questions to answer!😆
I may be in self isolation after 5pm today. I'm not waiting on a test result, but if we lose to them, I won't want to see or speak to anyone for at least 14 days!
#ntfc
No complaints today, better side won. If anybody in August had offered me ninth place at the end of January, I'd have snapped their hands off. Bad day at the office, park it, and go again next week
#ntfc
En route to Tranmere. Can't say I had the best nights sleep last night, the scars of last season's final day are still there! Come on lads, one last push to get over the line
#ntfc
🚨Personal news klaxon🚨
Now, things are confirmed, can now say that from next month I'm going to be a mature student! Enrolled on an access course at college with a view to studying Sports Journalism at University thereafter.
Big change, but excited for the challenge!
@SnakehipsSam
@SimonThomasSky
Exactly. When my dad died I pretty much carried on as normal, wanted to go straight back to work. When mum died, totally different, numb for ages and couldn't function at all. Almost 2 years on and still trying to get there. Do what feels right for you.
Tough day. Not only was it my late mums birthday, but shocked to find out in the last hour that one of my oldest friends has passed away. Only saw him a couple of weeks ago 😥
Live your life to the full, go after what you want and have no regrets, life's too damn short.
@drhingram
We're working on a magazine for a uni assignment at the moment. A slide in one of the sessions was titled "the impotence of proofreading"!
I was the only one who spotted it! 👀
@AndyBurnhamGM
In fairness, he has a point. I'm not one to stick up for Mr Trump, but we have to get our own house in order regarding knife crime first before we start taking the moral high ground over America and guns.
Home from the most amazing two weeks at
@BBCSportWales
on a placement where I learnt so much, and my certificate from the access course was waiting for me when I got home! Uni here I come!🙂😎
Right, we're all going to have a hot chocolate, go to bed and watch the game back, right!🤪 Absolutely lost for words, so happy 🤩 I've got tomorrow off, I might just get a little drunk

A few pictures of my grandfather, Martin Durrant pictured in the uniform of the Hertfordshire Yeomanry. He survived the First World War, millions didn't.

You know what, reckon I'll hibernate. Someone wake me up when all this Covid shit is finally over. Felt so lonely since March, loneliness isn't just an issue for the elderly. Lockdown ending December 2nd, great, the screw of the tier system is going to be tightened 😔
To all my football fan followers, happy new season eve! Here's to another 9 months of highs, lows, beer, 6am starts for away games, beer, missed trains, beer, dodgy chip shops, last minute goals, beer, and saying I'm not going next week! Let the banter begin! We go again! ⚽
Hands up if you're too old to have had a school prom, and when you left everyone just scribbled on each others shirts and just piled in the pub on the last day!😂😂😂
