Received my black belt in Brazilian JiuJitsu this afternoon from my coach Sebastiao Torres. This is the single greatest achievement I’ve ever gotten and one I’ll be proud of for the rest of my life. Ended brown belt ranked 7th in the world in my division, bigger challenges ahead.

After 4 matches got a Silver Medal at IBJJF European Championships. Won the first 2 matches by submission, beat the #1 seed in the semi final and lost by advantages in the final to the same guy who beat me in November. Proud of my performances, but hard to lose another final.

Stuart Carmody who trains in Cork has just become the first Adult Male competitor from Ireland to win a Brazilian JiuJitsu World title at a coloured belt level (Blue 64kg). He's 18 years old and has spent the last 2 months living in Brazil to prepare. INSANE achievement.

Absolutely not a judge, and love a good body triangle / back control. If you have the back for 4 minutes, barely land a strike and don't attempt a submission. While you're eating shots from the guy who has his back taken for 4 minutes. You shouldn't win that round 10-9.

JiuJitsu / Grappling is not a recognised Sport in Ireland. 4 self funded Irish Athletes have made the finals of the Black Belt Adult divisions. Regardless of the outcomes Ireland have more athletes competing in the finals than any other country in Europe at this years Europeans.

Conor McGregor looking to fight in Dublin literally makes the most sense in the world. The PPV market with ESPN+ leaves a huge question mark over will AS MANY people order his PPVs as they've done in the past. It's not a valuable for him to fight in the US market as it was.

I took Silver earlier on at the NoGi Europeans. M1, 67.5kg Brown Belt. I had 3 tough matches and unfortunately the gold slipped away in the last 10 seconds of the final. What can you do. Love being able to do this, and putting it all on the line in competition. Onto the next 1.

... otherwise when he's retired were going to realise how much more the UFC could have gotten out of an athlete like Conor. Fix the weight classes, get them healthier, fighting more often and for a fair percentage of what they bring in and deserve.
