Khabib Nurmagomedov
Conor McGregor
Justin Gaethje
Max Holloway
Eddie Alvarez
Dan Hooker
Cub Swanson
Anthony Pettis
Chan Sung Jung
A man who has fought all of the above was basically accused of looking for a way out of a match-up this week. By the person supposedly promoting him.
The biggest takeaway from
#UFC298
?
Anik. Rogan. Bisping.
That's the A-Team on commentary now. They were fantastic. Let's move forward with this as the PPV team. No question.
TJ Dillashaw's fight record is very odd.
Won his first four fights, then lost one.
Won his next four fights after that, then lost one.
Won his next four fights after that again, then lost one.
Won his next four fights after that, then.... He fights Henry Cejudo tonight.
Conor McGregor received his Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt from his coach John Kavanagh earlier tonight.
It's always been one of the major goals Conor has mentioned about achieving in his career.
"My return will be inside the octagon, for the UFC, in mixed martial arts. That story is far from over."
@TheNotoriousMMA
gives an update on his comeback to Sky Sports.
Anthony Smith finding out live on air that he just lost his fight with Jamahal Hill.
you can actually pinpoint the second his heart rips in half.
#UFC282
Massive respect to Michael Chandler for coming over to the UFC with nothing on his mind except to go to absolute war every time he step in there.
What an entertaining run, can't wait for more!
He threatened to kill Jon Anik. Straight up.
Is there any other profession that keeping your job would even be a question?
I couldn't give two fucks about his fake politics gimmick, but this is too far.
The anniversary of McGregor vs. Alvarez today but, for me, it's the culmination of the most extraordinary 11 month period for any MMA fighter ever
Dec. Aldo
Mar. Diaz 1
Aug. Diaz 2
Nov. Alvarez
All time KO, fight & performances
11 months, 3 weight classes, 2 belts. Incredible.
Two days ago, SBG Port posted they were closing down due to the Covid situation & lockdown.
Today, they announced Conor McGregor has stepped in to help and they will remain open.
"There's 10 seconds left in the fight and you're going to shoot? If he f*cking wung it out at the end of the 10 seconds, I probably would've picked him."
Dana White stands by his decision not to sign Brendan Loughnane and says criteria "different" on Contender Series.
The time leading up to McGregor x Chad (Aldo's rib injury) all the way to McGregor x Eddie was the greatest stretch in MMA history in terms of fun, entertainment and jeopardy. Everything mattered. Everything delivered. 18 months of sheer madness. We'll never see the like again.
Happy new year
@danawhite
. Here is a real challenge for you…
I will immediately retire from boxing and fight Jorge Masvidal in the UFC if you agree to:
2 years away from the cage.
All the money anyone could ever want.
Returns to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov.
This ends any talk of Conor McGregor dodging anyone for being a tough match-up.
I don't think there was ever an illusion as to whether the UFC cares about overseas fans - but this week ended it. You bring a PPV card - which you are already guaranteed money for from your American PPV partner - and put it in the middle of the night in Manchester. A disgrace.
Looking forward to embedded starting. Can't wait to see a hike, shadow boxing at the top of a mountain, someone getting a haircut, a suitcase being zipped up, an awkward hallway meeting at the hotel and not seeing the last episode.
Just realised it's been so long since Nick Diaz fought in the UFC that he skipped the whole Reebok era.
Went straight from shorts with sponsors to Venom.
The UFC had a chance to sign Francis Ngannou, Kayla Harrison, AJ McKee and Roberto Soldic in the last year and got none of them.
They can no longer say with a straight face that the best fighters in the world all come to the UFC. A situation which is entirely of their own making
Conor McGregor's name mentioned on the tonight show by a Dr. Nina Byrnes who was about to run out of gowns to treat people this week. McGregor arrived with a box of PPE when she was down to one gown left.
There's only way to bring MMA back (when completely safe)
1 night
1 island
4 men
1 title
Khabib. McGregor. Ferguson. Gaethje.
4 men enter, one man leaves as the UFC lightweight champion.
BOOK IT
Just spoke to Conor McGregor (
@TheNotoriousMMA
) about coming back from injury, what weight class he will return at, the lightweight title picture and more!
Watch:
If you're the UFC at this point, why would you keep this cretin? He's over the hill, probably costing a lot of money and making your organisation look terrible.
Truly incredible clip here.
Joe Rogan, in his podcast, suggests changes to fix MMA judging.
Just so happens those are the EXACT changes which happened in 2016 and have vastly improved judging, with a lot of people, like Joe, seemingly unaware.
Number of wins over people who have held a UFC belt or interim belt any one point.
Justin Gaethje - 1
Tony Ferguson - 2
Khabib Nurmagomedov - 3
Conor McGregor - 4
Dustin Poirier - 5
Former UFC champs Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo, along with Justin Gaethje, are all currently in Chechnya at the invitation of the republic's warlord Ramzan Kadyrov.
Here they are testing out guns at a special forces facility in Gudermes.
Usman x Khabib is the fight we all should be clamouring for
Amazing match-up. Khabib seems to want a big challenge, he always talks about legacy & sporting relevance meaning more than anything
Well this is it. 30-0, 2-weight champ
The best fight that can be made in MMA today!
You have FOUR, and only four, options in the GOAT debate. There shouldn't even be a top-10 list. All nonsense. Argue any of the 4 and you can make vaild points. Agree to disagree then.
DJ. Jones. GSP. Anderson.
The end.
