Looks like @DDOTDC is planning on temporarily expanding the sidewalk with jersey barriers on Maine Ave SW to facilitate pedestrian and #bikeDC connections from the Wharf to the Tidal Basin. They noted over-crowding on sidewalks during last year’s Cherry Blossom Festival.

Thousands of people like me will use them instead of driving. This kind of lane works perfectly well on L and M St NW, in NYC. +, lots of ppl bike to Fragers!
