Things I did last half term to pace
1. Prioritised 7 hrs sleep a night at least.
2. Gym-straight after work 2 x in wk.
3. Wednesday “free night” no work no laptop.
4. Meditation 2-3 times in school week.
5. Fine tune focus on one task at a time
6. No guilt 😀

Today is the first day of my life without my little brother of 40 years, He was a significant part of my life.
Grief’s hit hard.
His last 3 years & 17 hospital admissions with 4 serious nr death complications has been tough.
Yet there’s a peace & stillness 🙏🏼
Thank you to all my Twitter network for your wonderful prayers & positive vibes. They were so much appreciated.
Those of you who know, my brother is now at peace since about an hour ago. He has no more pain, especially emotional to deal with.
May his soul rest in peace 🙏🏼💖
The 36 yr old me finished the degree I started in 1989. I didn’t attend my graduation as Mum was poorly.
I graduated in my MA Education 2021. Attended graduation & brother got rushed to hospital & wanted me there.
Now in 2024 finally healed enough to order my photos ♥️
To my amazing network. Please please pray for my brother. Some of you know the problems we’ve been through … he’s had a massive haemorrhage on his brain and is now in hospital. Not looking good 😢 xx
Absolutely stunning graduation day yesterday for my MA in Education
@edgehill
concluded with visit to The Philharmonic Dining Rooms in Liverpool & flying visit to The Royal Albert Dock. Thank you to all the staff for making it so wonderful.
Apologies if I’ve not replied to notifications.
My little brother’s funeral was yesterday. We gave him the most beautiful send off possible.
Still highly emotional & processing it all 🥲🙏🏼💖
@Theholisticpsyc
I’ve been reading your posts they’re excellent & I’ve forwarded them on my phone to many people. You explain things so simply which resonates with many. Thank you & wishing you a wonderful new year 🙏🏼
Dear brother in heaven♥️
When you were born it was the happiest day of my life.
I was 12.
When you passed over 2 years ago it was the saddest day of my life.
I hope you have healed & at peace
Honouring the life you lived.
My heart is still full of love to give you♥️
Thank you to all my amazing Twitter network for all your positive vibes for my brother & my family. We’ve been with him since last night. Eyes not blinked at all. Vocal cords grunting. Bleed is in the whole of the brain 🥲
I’ve had a vulnerable loved one rushed into hospital just now.
Not Covid related but huge risk.
Worrying time as usual consultants & doctors are not available.
Prayers would be so welcome 🙏🏼
Having been given all PP classes with behaviour issues this year in the school I started last Easter & finding usual behaviour management didn’t work, I messaged
@MikeArmiger
who recommended this book. It’s mind blowing & amazing. Opened my eyes to what I was dealing with. 🙏🏼
That feeling when you have so much workload, so much burnout that you are desperately trying to make a dent in it...and you find out a member of your family has been taken into hospital 😞
May be time to stop now and do some calm, sitting still meditation...and 😴
Apologies if I haven’t replied to any tweets I’m tagged in.
Still grieving loss of my little brother.
Emotions are running high.
Lots of friends & family coming to support. I’m staying with family. Togetherness is needed at this time to get through.
🙏🏼💖🙏🏼💖
Wow! I met up with this lovely lady today ♥️
We could have talked for hours & hours!

Such a great person doing good in the world.
Huge amounts of energy, drive and potential, yet very grounded with humility.
So great to have met him today - representing us teachers 🌟🌟🌟
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Finally!! I am having me time in the sun and not cooped up inside doing school work or caring for family members or managing a crisis! Brought this sun Lounger today determined to sit in sun and read 😀
Been off Twitter as lots going on. Crisis after crisis, & now sciatica can barely move 🤦♀️a positive is I went to my cousin’s pre wedding party; nails now chipped 😂 had some momentary fun & giggles!
#sltchat
I’ve seen Leaders who have all the letters after their name yet don’t generate respect from staff & those without any qualifications who staff have asked why they are not in leadership. It’s about the person, the values, the moral purpose & how it’s articulated.
Those of you who remember my journey with my Mum, it’s her 4th death anniversary today 🥲
She’s at peace looking over her children.
I’m forever grateful to everyone who supported me through the journey 💖
I’m quite run down.
Under the weather.
Have eaten.
Will do a bit of work.
And have an early night to pace myself this week.
If I don’t take care of me, who else will?

#selfcompassion
This year has been tough with family matters. Lots of pain, trauma, anxiety, shouldering burdens, self healing & healing others through their pain.
After a long meditation & self healing today …
I sit here on NYE with a sense of stillness & peace (& a nap) that I’ve made it 🥰
Apologies if I’ve not replied to notifications & tags. Been off with flu; we had ofsted in & I went in… have a sibling who had respiratory failure & was put into induced coma. Lots going on.
If I don’t get round to saying it … hope everyone has a joyous & peaceful break 💖😘
Treadmill 5% incline HIIT for 60 mins done and a swim!

Daring to go to work with no make up on 😱 has added to my well-being by extra 40 mins sleep over the last two days! 😂
Sometimes vanity just needs to give!
And I don’t think anyone noticed 🤣
What a week! So much to catch up with including Twitter🙈
Great to hear able you go out for my birthday drinks after work today 😀
I’ll catch up on Twitter later.
Hope everyone has a fab weekend full of self care & self love 💖
Yes!!! Finally half term!
Just finished after school revision with Y11. It’s hard to keep a high level of energy going from 3-4pm on the last day, so just replenishing myself by decompressing for 15 mins with a jam doughnut ! 🍩
“This too shall pass” and it has!!
In my car
School is now empty
Taking a few deep breaths … and chocolate.
Honouring all the school staff giving it their all this term. 🙏🏼
Yes those are my very tired eyes 😭
Ready to go Christmas shopping ♥️
It would have been my Dear Mum’s birthday today if she was here. She loved get togethers & coffee & cake. Also the colour yellow!
Lovely family breakfast together in her memory & cake 🍰 (I have no make up on! 😱)!
Compassion fatigue is real.
Currently exhausted supporting a family member with addiction.
Along with my lead practitioner and teaching role.
A number of days over half term, last night and tonight 😔
Must draw the line. Can’t do both.
Gym swim steam sauna done!
Loved the longer session today

Yes!
People don’t realise :-
1. Level of planning and adapting lessons from before
2 “compassion fatigue”
3. Emotional investment in students.
4. Never switching off. Always planning & formulating in head
5. Level of admin
6. Not having any proper breaks.
Those of you who know my journey with my dear Mum & brother know what I went through.
I started having personal training (weights) to cope & it’s been amazing.
Twice a week for 8 months. Now once a week. I didn’t do it for weight loss but it’s had additional benefits! 🙏🏼
@SnowBuniCO
I could technically retire this year! 😂

teachers; middle leaders; senior leaders; headteachers tune in if you can tomorrow & pick up tips for wellbeing. Will 2018 be the year educational staff OWN & EMPOWER their wellbeing?
Be good to hear from you if you can & changes you will make😊
Learning to not just live in school holidays … but also in term time.
Night out with friends ♥️
Some of us have only just met today but really hit it off well 🌟🌟🌟
Yet I managed to do my Friday swim steam sauna!

Today I decided to sunbathe. In my garden, no books, no music, just the sunshine, plants, trees, flowers, soft breeze.

Wedding today. I’m at the hall in my glad rags with my coat & boots on 🤣 fancy shoes in a bag. Had to do an Uber as couldn’t get out of my drive 🤪 looking forward to tea & food.
So, I’ve had back pain for 2 weeks.
Clearly the universe is telling me to slow down.
So I did what Amy does.
Dose myself up.
Attended a daytime “Massi’s yard” event (Aunty’s yard) in birmingham!
