One of my favorite studies I read years ago was how the red zone fade was an inefficient pass no matter who was catching the ball. Except for Calvin Johnson who was so gifted he was the only receiver to turn over half his attempts into touchdowns.

@JuMosq Non nerd answer: They just went to the SB and AFC Championship. They were right. Nerd answer: O line is more of a weak link system than WR. WR > OT. Plus you need WRs in todays game and they have one of the best on the planet. Lastly, they were down 3 starters.

@FootbaIIism I’m not a huge Diggs supporter given how he won last season, but these types of reps are heavily favored to the offense. QB doesn’t have to worry about anything, DB left on his own knowing longer routes can develop. That doesn’t happen often in a game.

@PFF_Sam Best part is when you realize they tanked that meaningless Sunday night game in 2020 to move from 9 to 6 in the draft. Traded down from 6 to 12 in 2021, gained a first. Used that first to draft Jordan Davis. Eagles playing 3D chess.

I’m thinking 2nd round picks might be really undervalued in the NFL. High end first round picks are still fairly decent cap hits by the end while 2nd round picks remain incredibly cheap for all 4 years. At most positions there’s still plenty of talent on the board as well.

@SharpFootball This number should be sub 10% for all teams. Running on 2nd and 10 is nightmare fuel. Honestly though it’s all but guaranteeing a 3rd down and teams should be prioritizing first downs, not easier 3rd downs.

Minnesota is starting to feel the limitations of their weapons. Jefferson is all world but Thielen is declining, KJ is a JAG, Irv is medicore and hurt. Hock is at his best as a number 3 option and he can that in Minnesota.

Chase Claypool in 6 games since joining Chicago: 23 Targets 12 Catches 111 Yards 0 TDs I understand he was a deadline acquisition and it can take time to ramp up in a new offense but this is a brutal return for the 32nd or 33rd overall pick of the draft.

@benbbaldwin I would add that the number of TEs who are true difference makers are pretty low. A few elite ones A few in the Dallas Godert tier where they’re very good Then it’s a lot of replacement level types who get 450 yards in a season
