Use CMake, they said. It'll be easy, they said ... Nope, but I got 3.14 working on XP. Not my proudest patch, but with tiny changes to libcmcurl, overhaul of libcmuv and appropriate CMake/CTest/CPack changes, the thingie runs with zero DLL errors now.

Sitting in my room in Chennai, listening to music and working on my old PC. Feels like 2000s all over again. Bliss. For the record, I fixed my old computer with new PSU/CPU Fan/SD to IDE Adapter, we have Jio Fiber now, and I got a 24" FreeSync monitor for cheap on Amazon ($100).

I had an ambitious goal at the start of last year--demonstrate fearless concurrency in C++. Now it's working. This is one of the coolest things in language design. No data races to shared state--statically guaranteed. shared_ptr<mutex<T>> in C++ is Arc<Mutex<T>> in Rust.

@halvarflake It has nothing to do with just the language, but the compiler code gen targets. CUDA's programming language is simple, really and AMD came up with a ROCm clone that comes quite close and usable. The deal is that irrespective of that, one needs to ship end user libraries.
