Have to confess, I spent time going through Arkk models instead of real work today. Absolutely hilarious if you need a break. $zm model my favourite, 63% ahead of co’s topline guide for FY23. Only need to beat guide by 122% in 2h to get there. Where are these inflows from?
No one expected $pct to be easy, we have cash and time to achieve our goals. Lot of good things happened in the outage, will get through these hiccups and keep pushing forward. Tech isn’t where we are struggling, teething through mechanical issues which will be sorted.
We are proud to announce that our Ironton facility has successfully transformed post-industrial recycled material into PureCycle’s ultra-pure recycled resin.

Think we are making solid progress, new 8k feed rate is a big deal and the q3 targets also shows commercial production at scale. No more commissioning to do, hard long slog is going to be behind us and that will be a big deal.
Cool little video out from $pct. Seeing all that trash just highlights how important the mission is here. Super excited to start attacking the plastics problem.
In the premiere of "Inside PureCycle," CEO Dustin Olson showcases our feedstock warehouse, operational PreP lines and more.
Stay tuned, because every Friday we'll be sharing videos from our Ironton facility on the new "Inside PureCycle" series. 🎦
Proud of sylebra team navigating a tricky ‘22 and landing solidly in the black. Setup into ‘23 looks favourable. Lot of catalysts this year which hopefully drives more idiosyncratic returns.
Really struggling to understand how markets are not under more pressure here. Consumer data deteriorating, banking crisis building while commercial real estate is sinking. Talk to companies, trends are not good and stocks are expensive.
Pretty excited to welcome Dan Coombs to $pct board. Strong operator and a near perfect fit having run Lyondell’s manufacturing biz. Amazing that he actually has a background in super critical fluids and new plant scaling. Home stretch to Ironton coming. 👍💪
@turtlespeed2020
The language was overly complex and confusing in the original documentation, the pref is just redeemed in cash now. Pretty simple. To be clear though, the original language was written with the intention of it being a cash security and not stock. So no net change on our end.
@Kruker8
The report alleges fraud, obviously very serious charge. I was in ironton for the pellets in June, those pellets made their way through the entire recycling process. Saw it with my own eyes. Those allegations are baseless.
@JM2020v
@Mike_Taylor1972
Sylebra hasn’t sold any stock. Short report had no impact on our views, nothing in there we were not aware of or are worried about.
Anyone kidding themselves that NFTs are the future, it is time to revisit that thesis. Decentralands weekend sale is absolute comedy. sold 55k virtual plots. ~1 month worth of new us homes sold. gas fees nearly equal to land price. This is the future? 😂
@agnostoxxx
I still can’t wrap my head around the divergence between individual equities and indices. Still seems like a lot of downside if look at index level but then at company level some real carnage.
Feels like a dangerous setup in equities at the moment. while Nasdaq down ~15% on the year, just seems like more downside skew overall. Multiples have compressed but earnings revisions likely to be the next shoe to drop. Only thing certain is that vol will be high.

Can someone pls explain to me how this is not market manipulation? Huge option buy to then sell large block of stock for an insider. If that isn’t manipulation, what is? Just so that the rest of us know what the rules are.
@polaris97
@jkaynyc
We are excited about these management changes, this is a natural transition from founders to operational executives. Dustin and Coombs are the guys to bring ironton online and scale this business. All very positive.
Nice to see a $3bn deal hit the tape for $frey this morning. Potential this nidec deal takes up 50% of giga arctic capacity. Not a company many people are paying attention to.
Almost sad to think how broken these markets are. $bbby traded $8.8bn today. slightly behind what Volkswagen in ‘08 squeeze when it was briefly the worlds largest company. Insiders buying large out of the money options? Stinks of manipulation. Not involved but concerning.

@DatadoorIO
Hard to wrap your head around that operational performance and a stock this devastated. Will be tougher in 2h but future is bright here!
Ugly week in markets last week but starting to see some stock divergence. Solid prints out of $pags and $estc. Short book doing what it should. So much macro noise but stock level moves making a bit more sense. Not bullish on the market but like this book a lot.

The focus post outage was really runtime and reliability, this shows a plant operating at ~50% uptime. To me that is an encouraging number and shows a tremendous amount of progress. Think confidence in cp2 being resolved soon also very encouraging removing another bottleneck.
Wow what a day. Carnage like this is probably healthy, means we can find a bottom sooner. Once we get a reset in expectations we can start building from there.
One company I think people are sleeping on is $open. Hated the idea when I heard an initial pitch but after digging in, this has the ability to be a 10x+. Massive TAM, strong adoption trends, improving unit economics and great category expansion. Q1 will beat massively.
This market is making me dizzy, down 2%, up 2%, around and around we go. Just can’t find any direction. Normally a choppy tape leads to healthy alpha from stock picking but dispersions continue to be low. Expecting some fireworks in q1 earnings season though. Buckle up.

Thought q2 highlighted strong execution and a roadmap for bringing on capacity on time, on budget and with reduced risk. I’d buy more if i could
Given how much focus there is on reducing our environmental footprint, this really bothers me. Little to no value added to society for all of this power consumption.
@Tyler_Okland_MD
Sorry but if phoenix is such a disaster and bottom is already in for margins there? Why is this such an issue? Phoenix is one market, atlanta here is doing fine. This actually reads bullish to me cause it shows how quickly the model responds and recovers. $open
Can someone pls explain to me why semi earnings don’t matter? At some point do they ever matter? We just anchor back to pandemic tightness as basis for everything?!

As we have spent more time in the market my original concerns on feedstock continue to disappear. There is plenty of it and we will have a robust and structured system to collect and process at scale. Won’t be a bottleneck for the business growth. $pct

They spent a lot of time on site vetting the tech and process. They have real capital behind it, as do a lot of other sophisticated, institutional investors. Momentum is strong. $pct

Gonna be very proud when we are taking billions of pounds of plastic annually out of the world and recycling it. Headed there, lot of wood to chop to deliver but gonna get there. $pct
Looking at the mess in Europe and now California really makes me nervous about energy policy decisions and their impact. While different underlying problems, both got their the same way.
@turtlespeed2020
@Mike_Taylor1972
Pet is heavily recycled already, lot less need for incremental supply. PP is very limited in recycled material and what is, is generally low quality. 👍
Only thing that seems apparent in this market sell off is that there are no real buyers for TMT. Short covering mostly but no real risk being added on long side. Great prints met with varying degrees of negative reactions largely.
@epstein_nathan
Sylebra is very excited, month of deep diligence underwriting pipe and our work came back very bullish. Everything we are seeing is as good or better than originally expected. Tech is doing well and we are seeing strong market adoption of the pricing/product. $pct

Many alternative sources of cash outside the line of credit. Would agree that is an expensive option but there are other cheaper options available. Can resell the bonds we just bought back. That should raise meaningful amounts of cash.
Ouch. Inflation is far too important a problem for the White House to keep making statements like this. It’s either straight ahead misdirection or a deep misunderstanding of basic market dynamics.
@Rody80000

Clear that a lot of people are still betting this tech won’t work. Pretty simple, we just need to deliver on production and the stock will take care of itself.

Spac meltdown has been total carnage. Nothing seems to hold up in this environment. We haven’t sold anything, just waiting for ironton to come online and prove the tech

$PCT margins are expected to be very high, our view is that the case management provided, high 50s EBITDA is certainly very achievable but we see a lot of scenarios where margins are better. PP pricing is up a lot since and green premium at these volume levels is conservative
@Helvedboi
@anothercohen
I own 4% of $open, our models are properly calibrated for unit economics of biz. 20% is annual, they hold homes for ~3 months. They dynamically price homes with expected change in prices included in offers, so they’re insulated from changes naturally. Limited inventory risk.
@rabois
@HighyieldHarry
SMID cap tech from beginning of november '21 looks like death almost across the board. The spac index is down 63% on the year. $OPEN has slightly underperformed that. No duration in this market. people just trading open based on rates. Annoying but is what it is.

That was a convert which has arb holders shorting stock on the deal. Selling straight debt will not require hedging as arbs are not involved.
