For a #dcfc team so abject last season, with all the off-field issues to deal with in the summer restricting transfers etc, administration, a 21 point deduction and continued uncertainty…….. …….to be off the bottom of the Championship in January is astonishing.

I get those disappointed Lampard’s off so soon, and those ambivalent because “he did no better than Rowett”. For me, the only negative was the time it all took. Can’t begrudge him a move to Chelsea, can’t argue with how fun the season was and well....best of luck to him!

Just back from Chelsea. The last two weeks have shown #dcfc can mix it with the best, whilst being equally exhilarating going forward as they are sometimes comical at the back. But it’s great to watch, and everyone’s having fun, which is kinda what it’s all about isn’t it? 🤷‍♂️

Leaving defenders aside for a moment, I think Andy King is great signing for #dcfc Having seen plenty of him for Wales and Leicester - he's a model pro, will give his absolute all, bring real quality to the midfield, has an eye for goal and has an impressive list of honours...

What do we think then? A Rooney dominated transfer window, granted. Personally feel #dcfc have strengthened where needed - and yes, Hamer/Paterson might have been "down the list" - but it was still a Cocu list. Doesn't strike me as a manager who'd sign for the sake of signing.

Tonight felt a little similar to #dcfc v Cardiff last season. Billed as a must-win game, going a goal down before coming back in a spirited second half to take a crucial victory. It changed the outlook of that campaign, tonight could do the same to this one....

Significant update from #dcfc manager Wayne Rooney - including the line: "Questions asked about what I can do with the squad have been answered from my point of view - so now it's time to get on with my work" He's wanted clarity - now seemingly has it. We'll see what develops!

On the takeover - people are at the table, but unlike the previous two takeover attempts, business is being conducted extremely privately. There are no concerns over cash flow in the interim and no concerns over player wages being missed again.

Appears extremely unlikely PSV would attempt to lure #dcfc boss Phillip Cocu back. Despite trials and tribulations for him with the Rams, unlikely a move back appeals to him either. Sizeable pay cut, an average PSV team and committed to Derby project.

Unsurprisingly some very interesting things in the 122 page document! Mel Morris' disdain for the EFL is pretty clear - claimed the club are 'disliked' by the EFL, that he's an ‘enemy of the EFL state’, and the EFL have an ‘axe to grind'.

Full details of the EFL v #dcfc hearing have been released. The document absolves Derby of any wrongdoing in relation to two charges. Derby say they "express regret other clubs who had no involvement ultimately have to pick up the bill for the EFL’s legal costs" #dcfcfans
