@DeepDishEnjoyer
r/adulting is probably my favorite subreddit lmao.
"is this what is supposed to make me happy" NO, youre supposed to do what makes you happy. nothing is 'supposed to' do anything, go outside and have some fun
reminder that 3 years ago this was what the best image generator thought a dog looked like, and today guys online are complaining that a 4 minute long video doesn't look realistic
@thechosenberg
its been over a year and I'm still working through my "now that I'm alone, I can do all these things I've wanted to do" list. feels good man
@jessehawken
fans will tell you that it was like this in the comics so you just don't understand and the character was actually really cool and scary in the comics, you just don't get the deep back story behind giga-eggman
@USA_Polling
they didn't even bait the cognitive dissonance by asking "government should have more power when it comes to gender and sexual identity"? low effort poll
@justalexoki
it must be so cool to work as a captcha engineer knowing you have infinite job security because the company needs to create an entirely new product every 3 months
@hyperdiscogirl
Every time there’s a single car in the road that stops for me to cross, they’ve wasted both of our times. The time it took for me to confirm that they’re stopping is longer than it would have taken for them to just drive past. I’ll die on this hill every time
on one screen I have twitter: "$800k/year? only?"
on another screen I have discord: "someone please help me I used my last $10 on weed and I need to pay for my adhd medication"
@KeyTryer
hmm yes, copyrighting an art style sounds like it will work out GREAT for all the small time artists that are worried about AI art. The little guy always benefits from more copyright laws!
After we copyright art style (ending the scourge of amateur artists using their favorite animations as inspiration), we should copyright music style and game design elements next! No one should be able to use a sound or game mechanic that exists in any other game
I just read the entire ruling, (I'm no lawyer, let alone know about US law) the plaintiffs seem to look for establishing art style as trade dress, that is, copyright protected material. This would essentially stop any AI model using art as training from generating said art. HUGE.
@anpaure
this would be kind of fun for me, I get to waste a whole day doing basically no work, answer every customer with "I'm not sure, let me find you someone who can help you", get some steps in
@GeorgeCrudo
im sorry for assuming you were up to date on the technology that you are posting about. I wont bore you with a comparison between 2021 and 2024 image generation but you should look into it
@qorprate
"actions have consequences" is the anti just do things to me imo. A lot of reasons i dont Just Do Things is because I'm thinking about bad things that it could cause, which often aren't realistic but occasionally are valid
@lisatomic5
dudes will see a guy hanging from the ceiling, holding multiple full paint cans, above a massive spinning platform, making a really smooth curved paint splatter and think "i could do this, easy"
since the dawn of civilization there is a kind of person who rides into town, makes up some story about how powerful and great he is, pretends that "many people are saying this", and grifts people out of money and attention.
This is one of them
@DHuskytron
your mistake here is forgetting just how much of the tech industry is based on open source code that anyone can literally copy paste and use for free because us tech people really love sharing things we create
@CameronMMurray
@realEstateTrent
@baldridgecpa
Yeah, while searching for a job, hearing “stick around and you’ll be making $X” is more a red flag than not. Might be different in that specific industry, but to me it’s almost always a lie
@tautologer
lol growing up in california made me believe coyotes are all just skinny sad little dogs until I moved to another state and now they're actually scary
If we can compress the entire image dataset into 2-5gb, why aren’t we compressing everything like this? Imagine the insane amount of money that server hosts can rake in by compressing data with generative AI
Who’s working on this?
Literally anyone that believes that diffusion models compress 100 terabytes of images into a 2gb system that can retrieve those images think diffusion models are magic.
@eloiseelise
@liz_love_lace
on one hand, I can totally remember the days when I looked at instructions like this and just went HUH?? whats the # for? whats the $ for? Where do I type this?
On the other hand, im too busy coding, if you want better instructions you can submit a PR lol
@BecomeAManAgain
my eyes pop out of my head, my tongue sticks out so far that it makes a staircase shape all the way to the ground, and I make an "awooga" sound
@maryarchived
I have no idea who this is, but I can discern two things:
- they're kinda average as far as bands go, which is actually pretty cool!
- but the fact that its so overproduced and (seemingly) popular in spite of that means that theres something weird going on here (nepotism?)
@KeyTryer
and when you tell them they have a critical misunderstanding of the technology they go “yeah I avoid learning about it on purpose, idiot” because they’re so fucking scared of it
