At the end of this month Dylan is turning 2 and I'll be handing in my PhD. Having a child is the best thing I've ever done, but it's also been a struggle: childcare is so expensive that we've only had part-time care. Today on #IWD2023 I'm sending good vibes to working mothers 💗

I have a lot of feelings about going on maternity leave midway through my PhD and the struggles of balancing career and personal life. This year made me reassess that balance and I'm happy with the choices I've made but I've also never felt the burdens of womanhood more keenly.
