i lost my vovo on Monday night so will be feeling a little bit lost for a while. she was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1921 and lived in Brasil until 1953, when she chose to journey to London for the Queen’s coronation and never looked back — she was a remarkable woman

would argue this is largely due to a shift towards two things: 1. music becoming secondary to content / accompanying ‘story’ 2. songs > artists real desperation for authenticity in music but structural norms now dictate that songs r often bigger than the artists who make them
