Turning HOTD into anthology series(Dance, Conquest, Blackfyre Rebellions, Robert's Rebellion)makes a lot of sense from HBO point of view. It gives them basically (another) decade of content, everything is under the same brand, they will change cast and crew with every new phase.

I think it's actually smart move to portray them as normal people because it basically confirms that claims of their otherworldly beauty were just propaganda to further build the myth around them and their divine right to rule.

What's all this discourse about Targaryen's not being beautiful enough in #HouseoftheDragon ? All ruling royalty can legally claim that they are gorgeous, beautiful or sexy. Even if, in all honesty, the great majority of them were all ugly as sin and to call them it meant death.
