Usually when I fail at this - which is often - it is because I imagine others as the money changers and myself as the guy flipping over tables. A man too often full of ‘righteous’ anger is usually just a narcissistic ass with a lot more explanations than love.

Apparently unpopular opinion: No, parents shouldn't get extra votes. Of course non-parents should be able to hold public office. AND it's completely fine, rational, and normal to incorporate a preference for parents as part of how you decide who to vote for.

Worse than that, honestly. This is a town of 40,000 people with a mean household income in excess of $215,000. It is a suburb to the two most suburby suburbs in the universe: Frisco and McKinney. Its violent crime rate is less than 20% of the Texas average. This is criminal.

The trick is to reframe your return chasing as "looking for repeatable processes" and overbuild a diligence process around that. Bonus points if you build a Rube Goldberg machine to decompose return sources. That way you can still chase returns but you sound smarter.
