team has been back from summer vacations for a few weeks now, and itโs time to turn our eyes towards the second major update of 2024! Some details and teasers of what's coming:
I've often regretted that I started making
#Barotrauma
on a custom engine cobbled together from various open source frameworks, instead of going with a widely used engine like Unity, but today's been a nice reminder that there are pros and cons to either approach.

1.0 is out now! We hope youโve enjoyed the road so far as much as we have, and weโre beyond grateful for the overwhelming support over the years. This won't be our last update, but it is a huge milestone, and we're excited to share it with you!
Rare evidence that, contrary to popular belief, I'm not actually a spider! This little thing joined our family, so I'll be taking a brief break from the submarine business to focus on some real life stuff. ๐

When you finish SCP - Containment Breach, you see a list of anomalous entities (SCPs) you've contained. SCP-055 is an object of some sort that you immediately forget about after encountering it, and the list at the end implies you've run into it at some point in the game.
With the improvements we've done to the rest of

's art, the character sprites and their clothing have started to stick out like a sore thumb. That's about to change in the near future - here's some early screenshots of what we've been working on!
