Jamaica’s minimum wage could have been increased by 103 per cent, bringing it to $14,210. We did it for parliamentarians 20 years ago. We could have done it now for the poor. It would have been fair.

A govt housing agency used the titles of mortgagers as collateral to secure a loan from another govt housing agency to fund the construction of other houses. Mortgagers weren’t able to get titles after completing payments as the loan wasn’t cleared. You can’t make this stuff up.

Just adding some facts to the discussion re MPs' salaries. @jaevionn you quoted a report claiming MPs are paid about $300K monthly. That's not the case presently before tax. With travelling and subsistence allowances, MPs earn just over $5.1M yearly or just under $426K monthly.
