@golfweek
Key word in this statement is “playable”. If a course is playable u play, doesn’t matter if it is “championship” conditions or not. All players are dealing with the same conditions so it’s a level playing field and can still determine who the deserving advancers are.
A season and a career coming to close today at Briarwood as we blow out irrigation and I help the club interview my successor. Been a great 12yrs, a lot of support but Muscular Dystrophy has made it too hard to carry out the grind anymore. Time to focus on family and health
Sometimes u just gotta do things at the last minute. Good seeing u and chatting
@mphturf_79
many prayers, always in our thoughts n hearts. U have been open about ur story and have inspired many; myself being one. Good Bless, keep fighting.
Thank u to all the Veterans out there as well as those currently serving. My special vet here, my wife; West Point grad, 2 tours in Iraq, 6 total years enlisted until she was told she couldn’t go any higher cause she is a female.
Can use some prayers for this girl. Found her this morning upstairs after calling for her and she couldn’t get up. Finally got her up and her back legs weren’t wanting to do their thing. In tears for this girl.
I mean; in all the bullshit going around in the world. My only hope is this young lady can appreciate life, have a big heart, be accepting and not let negativity get the best of her. If only innocence like this could last a life time before poison sets in.
Proud dad of this sweet baby girl; Raynor. Shares the same calendar number birthday as our anny and other daughter; the 22nd. Man my wife is a fucking warrior!
3yrs ago we turned in our resignation from Briarwood. Hard to believe it’s already been that long but the little ladies have made time fly by. We do miss it. Picture I took of pup that day while she sat and soaked it in.
Was a comfort having my Occupational Therapist tell me how proud she was for the decision I made to focus on my health and family. Said too many patients wait too long and can’t get back what was missed and lost.
Got hit pretty good today by $nwbo; sadly wasn’t due to poor data but people that would rather see something fail vs a promising treatment for GBM and down the road other tumorous cancers. The data didn’t lie; they are giving people more life. I trust the science and the data.
Got in this business because I loved golf and enjoyed being outside. Today was confirmation that while growing grass my list list of family and friends has grown. Great to see so many come give me well wishes and thanks.
Today was a hopefully day in a pursuit for “normalness” by tackling pain. Today I entered the trial period for Boston Scientific Spinal Cord Stimulation device. Fingers crossed this is successful in helping curb chronic pain in my low back and my legs.
Excited that I’m scheduled for my trial for Boston Scientific Spinal Cord Stimulation device. If goes well a permanent implant will be placed to interrupt nerve pain to my brain.
Always feel very fortunate when surrounded by these ladies! A gorgeous night for dinner at BearPath then chilling out by the new putting course and sitting area.
Our final walk of Briarwood as Director of Grounds and Director of Goose and Squirrel Control. Been an amazing 12 yrs total and 7 the two of us together.

thanks for your…
If you have a spare few seconds please send out a prayer for
@mph_turf79
as he has surgery for the medical trial he's involved in at UCLA to hopefully combat his brain cancer.
Thank u to my lovely better half for her service to our country. This is the unit she was in command of when deployed to Iraq in ‘03. She’s second row right in the middle.

Happy Veteran’s Day to all that have served and those serving; thank u!
Well, all I’m saying is that I want to look back and say that I did the best I could while I was stuck in this place, had as much fun as i could while I was stuck in this place, played as hard as I could and threw as much sand as I could while I was stuck in this place!!! 2 wks
Cool to see so many people support Matt and his family and in turn
@wee1foundation
and the golf course industry. Was great to see so many people from the industry today! Well done
@mphturf_79
u touched so many in ur time.
Well, 2nd surgery in 2 months. Hopes that this mitigates the constant pain in my lower back n legs. Been a year of 2’s; 2 ER visits, 2 surgery’s and 2 lawsuits.
All the troubles I’ve had fighting my body I’ve had one hope; play golf with Rourke. So grateful I was given that chance this week and I am so proud of her. Used great etiquette and care for the course, respected our playing partners, and demonstrating amazing swing mechanics
A walk to remember; my Grandpa Johnson walking with me at a golf tournament in North Carolina. He introduced me to the game which ultimately landed me in a golf industry career. RIP Grandpa and thanks for the many life lessons you taught and all the great talks we had.
Been a whirl wind of the last 4yrs but I’ve definitely come to realize everything happens for a reason. I’d imagine had I not walked away our youngest wouldn’t be here and the time I’ve had the ability to spend with all would have been reduced, drastically.
#grateful
Conclusion of the trip at Spyglass. Met some great people played some great golf courses and above all happy with where my physical treatment plan has put me. Never did I think I’d be able to do a trip like this a year ago. Thanks to my wife for having a yearly conference here
The wife started this little wall when we met. Has all the states where we have lived before and after we met, Chicago being the center as we met there. Well another is being added as we’ll be moving to Arkansas in January. She’s taking her talents to Fayetteville!
We lost a great lady today! Love u Grandma Phyll, was very fortunate to be ur grandson and for u to be the great grandma to my daughters. Ryker who sorry I didn’t meet will carry on ur name. Give Papa Vern a hug for me as u guys reunite.
Met many great people in this industry and here is one of them. Thank u
@BKRichey
for your friendship and the tour of the course this morning. Company, weather and course were perfect!
Made trek to my home town yesterday to see my dad whom just had surgery to remove some cancer from his neck. The 2.5hr drive in the Jeep, topless and 90% back roads was a great therapy session.

Got to enjoy a really cool property today; one of the coolest that I can remember.
@tcturf

@brianjlaurent
and Josh Tubbs for a great morning.
@jeff_mingay
love the work!
Happy Anniversary lady! 14yrs has been an adventurous ride through 4 states and 3 kids and a great pup. We’ve been through our downs but counter them with more ups! Cheers to another 14 and more!
@erinvanlanduit
Just like that it’s a wrap. Thanks San Diego and so awesome putting faces to social media friends and spending time with so many great folks! Safe travels everyone; now to listen to Morgan Hoffmann podcast about his battle with FSHD.
Today is a very special day of appreciation to all those that fought to protect us and give us our freedoms. Happy Veterans Day, and a special one to this tough woman who is our families rock!
Fellow golf course peeps on east coast specifically Carolina’s. My wife received this through her military network; sad story. If anyone is looking for a golf course dog or knows someone that can help! See photos
I must say that I sit here rocking my little one and while it’s snowing like made its nice not having to think about plowing at the club tonight or tomorrow.
