The Linux Kernel was built completely remotely with over 15,000 contributors and over 1,000 companies contributing. They work primarily in mailing lists on some of the most complicated and critical software that exists. Tell me again why you need your in person whiteboarding?

People misinterpret the rise of remote work with isolation. Instead imagine a world where all of your friends work remotely and you can all go grab lunch, get a coffee or work together in a park? Far better than sitting shoulder to shoulder with a person you didn't choose.
