I WROTE A CHILDREN’S BOOK! It’s called “Read it Again!” and it’s illustrated by the epically talented
@steven_purifoy
. It celebrates each kid’s passion for reading stuff over and over and over. Great for little readers of all ages.
Friends, colleagues, allies: I’m retiring. May 1st will be my last day at Easy Allies, and in games. I will continue recording VO and say hello when I’m able. More details in this video, during EZX today, and in the coming weeks. L&R. Thank you, all! ❤️
Hey, Milo fans! HE’S HOME! My son was discharged from the hospital this past weekend after a grueling two-month fight for survival. Mom and I are proud beyond words. Lots of meds to take now and appointments to keep, but he gets to end each day in his bed. WIN.
I totally forgot I gave my parent’s address for the pre-order because we were moving, so when my Mom came over today to babysit Milo she BROUGHT ME A PLAYSTATION 5! Thanks, Mom!
When you bless the evening’s tabletop-themed bachelor party you’re hosting by randomly bumping into
@matthewmercer
and
@Marisha_Ray
in a parking lot. Good tidings.
It’s officially been ONE YEAR since I “retired” from covering games. Here’s a quick update thread on what I’ve been busy working on and when you can look forward to more news. Love to everyone still following me and big thanks to those supporting Easy Allies.
Fast & Furious Presents: HOBBS & SHAW - Official Trailer
#2
Are you ready, we’re back with our SECOND WORLDWIDE
@HobbsAndShaw
trailer🔥
THIS SUMMER AUGUST 2ND👀
#HobbsAndShaw
It’s Milo’s birthday! He’s 3! This kid’s second year was harder than we ever could have anticipated. I’m so proud of his strength and patience. He teaches me more and more each day. Kid-friendly, funny animal videos in the replies are appreciated.
I’ll leave this here, and subsequently Twitter, for the foreseeable future. My 2-year-old best bud Milo is in the hospital. I gotta go be a Dad. I’m sorry I can’t say more. Take care of yourselves and I’ll report back when it seems appropriate to do so. L&R
I FINISHED THE FIRST DRAFT OF MY NOVEL! 348 pages. It’ll hopefully end up being shorter than that. I have lots of work to do now to get it in top form. Hoping to publish it this year, or get the ball rolling. I’ll update you all on the progress when there’s more to say.
This guy just finished the initial recording of the audiobook for his first novel. Now to finish the edit and record any necessary pickups. I’m aiming to launch this baby in October. Digital/Paperback first, then Audio ASAP after. Stay tuned!
10 years ago today I married
@Amanda_Troop
. I wish, to all of you, the same amount of happiness she has given me in that time. IT’S A LOT! My love, my friend, my favorite - Happy Anniversary!
I've struggled with anxiety ever since my first full-blown panic attack my freshman year in college, but didn't really diagnose it until my mid-30s.
I've been taking Lexapro daily since last summer. I see a therapist every week. And I meditate for 5 minutes or more regularly.
I have depression and overall anxiety.
I take citalopram daily, and recently upped my dose. I've been on and off meds since I was 16 (I had trouble breathing and my mum thought it was asthma... it was anxiety!!).
I go to therapy when things are really tough.
That move, 5 seconds in, where Kermit's eye pops up like he's raising an eyebrow, is something only Jim could do at the time. His hand was so huge he filled all of Kermit's head with it. The Kermits you buy at the store have that part filled in to round him out. Jim was the GOAT.
With the announcement of Summer Game Fest (which makes me so happy) I have experienced my first taste of big news dropping exactly at the moment when I first publish this week's podcast (as moderator). Good times.
Hey, novel nerds. MY BOOK COMES OUT NEXT WEEK! Stay tuned for links and more info. Leading up to the launch, here’s a thread of some fun facts about the history of theme parks, for no reason at all. I’ll drop one of them a day. Enjoy!
No words can describe the pride I feel knowing that I get to go hear the woman I love perform in Disneyland; the place that first showed me the amazing potential of artist collaboration. The fact that she's a new, canon, Star Wars character is just completely out-of-control. 👏
I’ve been wanting to share this for so long! When my amazing agent
@patbradyjoles
called me with the booking, I cried. When I told my hubby
@TrailerJones
he cried! Because it’s not JUST the bucket list booking of getting to be a voice in the Disney parks... it’s STAR WARS.
I’ve been rather fond of
@Amanda_Troop
for about 17 years now, but I was not at all prepared for how madly in love with her I’d be when she became the mother of our little Milo. Have a wonderful Mother’s Day, Troopie! ❤️
This mother has made it through some of the toughest stuff I’ve ever seen. And the whole time she keeps showing me how to handle the hardest things in life, while staying fun and fabulous. The love of my life by a country mile. Happy Troop Day! ❤️
E3 made my career. The first day of GT was the first day of E3 in 2002. No subsequent year was ever the same. I owe it everything. Thanks to everyone I worked with that made it unforgettable.
I’m a fan of games I’ve never played, books I’ve never read, movies I’ve never seen, people I’ve never met, places I’ve never visited, and experiences I’ll likely never have. Let Ed’s bad take here empower you to bring more unknowns into your life and love them intensely.
Seeing the Star Wars movies does not make you a Star Wars fan.
Actual Star Wars fans have done some of the following:
* Read the novelizations
* Read books in the EU
* Read new canon books
* Read some comics
* Watched the animated shows
* Participated in SW discussion groups.
A lot of things happened tonight. One of them was me leaping over five rows of chairs to finally meet
@yosp
, in person, for the first time. Mission accomplished. An absolute pleasure.
Here’s my dad and me in ‘79 (when my parents would tell me to “do the Hulk”) and Milo and me in ‘24. Love to all the dads out there today, and those no longer with us. ❤️
In all the announcement hustle and bustle yesterday at EZX, I neglected to mention how stoked I am about
@dbloodworth2
and
@IslaHinck
now managing Easy Allies directly. (1/4)
Hey, my son Milo is doing better! I streamed a Milo update live for EZA Patrons on Monday to shake off the live-cobwebs in my brain that developed these past five absent weeks, so here's a quick Twitter update for anyone left in the dark. 🏥💙 (1/3)
Props to
@andrearene
for bringing an honest, personal touch to something as emotionally insurmountable as the typically-stiff EA Conference. Continually in awe of her.
Only one man can get Nintendo, Muppets, and Vin Diesel trending at the same time. Congrats
@geoffkeighley
on another epic Game Awards. Such a fun show.
In the hospital today for Milo’s 4th weekly checkup this month. Feeling incredibly grateful to all of the Patrons of EZA who made it possible for me to be here with him during this potentially scary experience. All things considered, I’m a lucky dad! ❤️
My first novel, WHIRLY WORLD, is available to pre-order! It’s the story of an amusement superfan whose ghost gets trapped in his favorite theme park, so he has to befriend the other souls that died there to confront the forces holding them captive.
Thank you to everyone who reached out here, and elsewhere, to express their love and support. Shout out to the Allies who all assumed my various responsibilities and kept paying me. We could not have done this alone, and thankfully did not have to.
A few years ago I had to go to a therapist and start practicing meditation daily to manage anxiety and stop ongoing stomach issues. I wish everyone else could learn to meditate, discover its benefits, and understand we’re all susceptible to this stuff.
#WorldMentalHealthDay
A hearty congratulations to my friend, ally, and hero,
@KyleBosman
, for finishing his impressive 10-episode run of the brilliant
#BoxPeek
. If you haven't seen it, treat yourself. Grab a milkshake and jump into Episode 1:
Well, it took a few well timed burps (which I sadly have no more natural, guttural types left of this morning), but I finally made my son laugh in the hospital. He continues to improve. Slowly, for sure, but we’re getting there.
Y'all are over there like "all those scenes in Final Fantasy VII Remake look insane" and "gimme RE3" and "aww DOOM Eternal got delayed" and "how is The Last of Us Part II even possible" and "I can't believe how huge Cyberpunk 2077 looks" and I'm over here like
I’ve been relatively quiet on this site because I’ve been focused on work and family, but soon I’m going to start shouting from the rooftops about these two books. Thanks for following me and reading this update! Cheers!
This Thursday, I’m tripling down on Kinda Funny. I’m crashing the KF Gamescast, sneaking on KF Games Daily (first time!), and FINALLY joining Jared for the latest Red Dead Radio. Yee haw! It’s going to be a good week.
Thank you, Patrons. Thank you, subs. Thank you, chat. Thank you everyone that made 2019 possible for Easy Allies. I’m looking forward to doing fun stuff for y’all in 2020. Here’s to a prosperous New Year! Have fun tonight, but stay safe!
A massive, never-ending, parade of love and respect to everyone that helped Easy Allies donate over $12K to
@AbleGamers
this week. It feels good to do good for others, and it wouldn't be possible if we didn't have such a thoughtful and generous community. Overwhelmed.

The story behind this is funnier when you realize that we added this to the level the moment we saw you click on our game, which is a testament to the iteration speed of Dreams.
I know I should have a long, coherent review prepared for the new Pinocchio, but my brain is mush. I’m in awe of its awfulness. I have no idea what they were going for, what they achieved, or what I’m supposed to do with myself now. It was very bad. The end.
We've received a lot of helpful feedback regarding our Google Stadia reactions yesterday. I can't control how I'm going to react to something, or pretend I'm into something when I'm not, but we're still here to entertain and I want to make sure we do. Thank you, allies!
There are still some lingering concerns because what he had done is so incredibly complicated, but the net gains are obvious when we're now able to snuggle and giggle with the kid. It changes everything. Thanks for the support, everyone! Have a great week! 3/3
When I’m older, can you all please remind me never to tell other fandoms what is or isn’t art, cinema, a video game, a novel, a play, or a theme park please? If you work hard on your craft, be proud of it.
