Today I had two moments that almost made me cry in therapy sessions with Black Women clients. 1. I have a YA who refuses to pit on her camera in tele-health because of low self-esteem. Today she put the camera on to show me we were rocking the same hairstyle!

@jzux Yes! I went to see a therapist where I dropped the F bomb explaining my mental pain and she said I couldn’t curse. I told her, “Lady F***k your couch!” and left. She is the reason I became a therpiast today and I allow my clients to curse all they want!

@RicoFresco_ I walked out of the hospital 7 cm dilated because the nurse popped me on my leg and told me to WALK to my room! I cussed her tf out and went and had my daughter at home with a midwife like I intended in the 1st place. Black women pls be careful 🥺

@dulcesloan We hold trauma in our sacral chakra, we hold anxiety in our abdomen. We are functional but internally holding our pain. So idgaf what the medical doctors say we have the highest rate because of our generational and daily trauma. Having surgery to remove mine this Spring.

It is normal for the body to feel exhausted once it feels safe. Why? Because it’s been running off of hypervigilance and cortisol for so long that when it no longer feels threatened it collapses into rest.
