I always hear people say that Darkstalkers should be like Mortal Kombat, just this super dark M rated bloody game. But people forget all the charm of Darkstalkers came from it's super wacky over the top highly animated sprite work. That's what you need to make sure returns.

Tekken 8 might have the best replay mode I've ever seen in a fighting game. It pauses the replay to tell you "You can punish this block with this combo," or "Off of this move the optimal combo is this." It's a replay mode designed to help everyone learn from their mistakes.

What SNK has done with their fighting games over the past 6 years would be the equivalent of Capcom putting out a Street Fighter, a Darkstalkers, another SF, then announcing a new Rival Schools, and somewhere in there they put out whatever their equivalent of SNK Heroines is.
