Media treatment of Peter Capaldi in DW has been nothing short of horrendous since he was cast. I remember the BBC blaming him for the shows poor ratings in an article announcing Jodie to the role. The man gave everything to the show, and deserves our love and respect.

Aside from how great he is as a person, he's also one of - if not THE - finest ever actors that we've had in the role. Consistent 10/10 performances week in, week out. His popularity and resonance with audiences isn't a coincidence and you aren't cool or edgy to hate him so much.

The one aspect of the 10th Doctor I was worried wouldn't be in the 14th is his emotional immaturity and his inability to be composed when the chips are down and I'm so glad to see it back as it's what I find him to be so intriguing. David Tennant just owns moments like this.

Having the Curator return was my tip of the iceberg as it retroactively makes the 50th feel less special. Sure you CAN have Jackie Tyler meet River Song, Adric and Churchill, who all team up to battle The Voord in a 5 part boxset, but you aren't doing that to tell a good story.

Like David and Peter were already mega fans before they accepted the role Chris and Jodie never watched much at all Matt watched The Tomb of the Cybermen once But Ncuti has clearly watched a lot of stuff across the entire show for this, which I think is really commendable.

If you don't like the show anymore it's not that deep, a lot of Doctor Who fans didn't enjoy the last era - just stop watching it. Honestly, it was tough for me but it helped my mental health a lot. There's no need to inflict this on yourself.

@TharriesYT I love Series 5 but imo it really didn't continue with RTD era themes, the 60th built on almost everything set up by Chibnall even though most fans would have preferred it ignored. RTD took a massive risk doing that, and a lot of 13 fans still mock and berate him. Infuriating.

Would build on the relationship 11 and 10 had already, and some sick parallels can be made between the 11th Doctor growing old and accepting his fate and the 14th Doctor showing it's not over yet, but perhaps being destined to be stuck in the past.

Best part of 'Journey's End'? The final scene. The guts it took to leave the finale of DW on such a depressing ending. He went from having a full family of companions, to absolutely nobody. On a personal and mental health level, this is truly one of 'The Doctor's' lowest moments.

@TharriesYT There's a reason why The Doctor went back to being 10 as well, the one incarnation that didn't want to let go of being himself. It almost feels like a defensive mechanism after all that The Doctor went through since then, allowing him to revisit the one who couldn't accept dying.
