Alex’s depravity is demonstrated by how he protests to have loved and still love and care so much about everyone he’s hurt. It is just frightening to see how even now, he truly cares for no one. I, I, I and me, me. me. That’s who matters to him. This is nauseating.
5 years ago today Mallory Beach lost her life. 5 years ago today her family waited for her body to be found while some people in law enforcement tried to help Alex. 5 years later those people still have badges and S.C. is still second in DUI related deaths. Do better. Demand more
Today Mallory Beach would have been 25 years old. She was loved by many and is deeply missed. Underage drinking and the illegal sales of alcohol to minors is a real danger to everyone. Only the people who are making billions off the lives of the innocent are happy!
There is a certain rich irony, in a liar saying he only temporarily lied while continuing to lie. And accusing Judge Newman of untoward conduct and bias.
@TheEricBland
It’s amazing to me that millions upon millions of people watched and listened to Judge Newman’s words and temperament. To my knowledge, there was no criticism at all from those millions, including many “legal scholars” and wannabe legal scholars. Until now. They are shameless
@ZoomyFlew
The problem is Alex didn’t think they meant cooperate cooperate. He probably just meant he’d agree to cooperate but lie. It’s simple Alex logic. The key to understanding Alex is recognizing that Alex only does things he thinks will benefit Alex. Nothing more. Nothing less.
@pilatesandwine
I think that’s a fair point and I’m inclined to agree with you. However, after he killed his wife and son I quit considering his feelings. So the thought that someone might think I was celebrating his pain never crossed my mind. I also don’t think he feels pain for them.
@jmonkatthestate
How many times can they cry “wolf!”? First there was an “iron clad” alibi. Then they had a suspect and they were gonna solve the murders. Then there was “a white dude” vigilante. Then there was a life insurance policy. And all along he never ever went to the kennels.
“Harmless error” and “overwhelming evidence” of guilt. This is the entire shooting match right here. They know they lose if they can’t eliminate the trial judge’s conclusion that there was overwhelming evidence of guilt. This is the deathknell of the new trial motion and appeal
@calder_price
@Jamzsmada
The 401k was worth just over $2 million when it was cashed out with my consent. Penalties and taxes took half, leaving $600k to pay for Alex’s astounding experts and just over $300k going into the court’s receivership.
How much would you charge to have your photo falsely and maliciously published in such a way that people believe you were involved in a brutal murder and hate crime? This photo is inextricably and permanently linked to a crime you did not commit but that people now think you did.
@AD_308
@TheEricBland
Without a leaching attorney like me, it would all have been gone and scattered into the four winds. Alex wasn’t preserving his funds for any victim, whether you think they were deserving or not. He was liquidating.
@DrewTripp
More importantly, Alex specifically waived his right to appeal the taking and liquidation of his assets as part of the settlement that secured Buster some money. I’d submit what the feds should seize are the funds that were paid for Alex to read his 5th grade journal for Fox doc
@Mafi287
That’s why I pointed out from the stand he had no life insurance. The suicide for life insurance story was to cover up the cover up when it didn’t work.
@MPowersNorrell
Oh Mandy, you know that’s only a slight detail! Please don’t get hung up in the facts or the law. And definitely don’t talk whether there is overwhelming evidence of guilt or prejudice.
@leah_baker_art
@elizfarrell
I don’t think this is anything other than the continuation of the play they started the other day. Since they waived their right to appeal the state court taking, they’re now trying to get a second bite at the apple. That usually doesn’t work.
@TheEricBland
I think you misunderstood her. She wants to make sure all the victims receive notice of the claims process established by Judge Hall. I don’t believe she advocating for a federal fund nor do I think she thinks the feds have jurisdiction to take over the state court proceeding.
@DrewTripp
Alex has no assets controlled by the state. We seized a took his assets pursuant to a court order. Those assets were then sold, also pursuant to court orders. Those orders were not appealed and are final.
@sandradeparr
@TheEricBland
We couldn’t get to it with a judgment, like the 401k. But once Alex dips into those funds, the court’s order and the receiver come into play. Clearly, no one told us he was accessing the trust funds. So now we need to know what other assets Alex has that haven’t been disclosed
@alexVlandsberg
If that is a legitimate question, then no answer I give you will be acceptable to you. So how about “Killers don’t get to profit from their crimes?”
@MandyMatney
Or that he didn’t mean to steal from the estate, just meant to steal from the father of the 6 young children left after the mother’s tragic death. Guess Alex skipped the day they taught the father receives half of the estate in a wrongful death case.
@AD_308
@TheEricBland
Talk about character and integrity?! While you tweet away from a non anonymous account! Put your real name on this. We know who you are. Why are you hiding? Or trying.
$25 per view? $100 per view? $1000 per view? Does it matter if the people who wrongfully published your photo did it for financial gain? And that they knew you weren’t connected to the crime when they published your photo?
5th worst in the nation in deaths yet 23rd in population! And some people in the legislature are trying to protect those responsible so they can act with impunity. Makes perfect sense if you care only about money. But have they stopped to think of all the other costs?
@mariahhart83
Like Judge Newman, I was hoping they had the nerve to ask me about it in front of the jury. Unfortunately, they realized there was no lesson in the second kick of a mule!
@smoore110475
@BrandiNChurch
He denied requests to admit that would have protected Maggie from being sued. It would also have shielded Moselle from being subject to a judgment (since he had money, I didn’t care about his property then)
@klumelike
@MandyMatney
@DrewTripp
Well they didn’t go to the last hearing on the receivership, so I guess they don’t actually know that the receivers told the court there would be no more fees. Nor do they care for that matter. That’s not what’s going on here.
@CarmenMcCoy53
He didn’t want to be seen as a failure! Exactly. Truth is it was cover to say a “vigilante” was really after him and his family because SLED had just told him they couldn’t clear him as the suspect and he knew the financial crimes coming out would change everything.
@MPowersNorrell
@calder_price
@Jamzsmada
I think it’s possible there could be some in something like captive insurance. I understand he made a trip to the Bahamas right before he was arrested. We’re still looking.
@bethlitton
@klumelike
@MandyMatney
@DrewTripp
As it relates to the “assets” - the receivership funds which aren’t his any longer- this a play to (1) try to petition the federal court for “fees” the state court judge denied them, and/or (2) have the federal restitution be set to take the funds and pay who Alex wants
