My first Ramadan fast was before I became a Muslim; I tried for 2 years but couldn't fast even for a day. But, after my Shahadah, I could fast easily for the entire month and I've been able to do it for 9 years. Alhamdulillah. The key to successful fasting was "Imaan".

My new Indonesian neighbours who are working in the local supermarkets told me that they have to remove hijab and they can't pray. If they complain, they'll be returned to the country. I called my mother in shock. She opened her house for them to pray as it's near. Alhamdulillah

My grandmother never went to school. My mother didn't go to university. But they've been educated in home how to be great mothers and take care of their family. That was much more important than studying in the secular educational system that teaches us how to be slaves of world.

There was Aussie beef in my local supermarket, so I asked the shopkeeper to show me the box. He asked, "Oh, you mean, Halal?" I was suprised that he knew Halal and he brought the box and told me "We stock Halal marked Aussie beef in our shop for most of the time." Alhamdulillah!

If I were a student in Egypt, I would wear a mask. It is ridiculous that people are allowed to cover their faces for viruses, whereas we can't do it for our Deen . Ironically, there may be more women hiding their faces in Japan than in Muslim-majority countries like Egypt.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer this year and when she was absent from work, people she had never spoken to at work invited her to join their 'religions', either in person or by phone. She said she refused all. I asked her how and she replied, "I said 'I am a Muslim'.”😂💓

I went to Kobe today for a lecture on Islam for non-Muslims and to work as a Shariah adviser. They prepared Halal certified Bento and water for my lunch and dinner, Alhamdulillah. I will eat them on the Shinkansen on the way back to Tokyo.

This Ramadan I have not been to a busy mosque. I either go to smaller, less crowded mosques or stay at home. When I was younger, I liked to socialise with friends at the large mosque for Iftar, but now I prefer to devote time to the Qur'an, study and pray quietly. Alhamdulillah.

Today I attended the wedding party of a friend from university. They prepared the prayer room and all the Halal food just for me. Alhamdulillah. I am grateful that all my old friends are kind and respectful of Islam.

My midterm exam time is 4 hours before lunch time, so every day my mother brings me the lunch she made. In the beginning, I was criticised for quitting my job and studying Islam. But in the final year, she's really supportive. This is all due to the barakah of Ilm. Alhamdulillah.

Reverts are not only tested by the sorrow that their parents pass away without being Muslims, but even the procedure in their death.This include the matter of funerals and inheritance - Muslims can't take inheritence from Non-Muslims.Keep making du'a for them while they're alive.

I had some worries the other day about gender mixing and I feel uncomfortable with people who jump the boundaries, and yesterday I made du'a to Allah ﷻ to make it easy for me. Today I became friends with another Japanese Muslimah who shared the same view! Alhamdulillah.

In today's society, women have been educated to delay marriage and build their careers in case of 'eventualities'. If they have the time to invest in it, why not educate them to be better Muslimas, wives and mothers? It's the women's fitrah and it'll bring barakah in their life.
