Tap On/Tap Off, Touch On/Touch Off, Tag On/Tag Off or Validate? Here's a map of what we call it when we board public transport with our Smartcards across Australia.
They also have a Top Up feature, and to 'top it off', Translink also has a 'Tap Into Smart Ticketing' webpage!
I know there are many transport projects across Auckland that are more important than this.
But the Kingsland overbridge needs a roof.
(Not just saying this because I forgot my umbrella) but because it gives a better all round passenger experience.

Victoria Cross Metro was breathtaking. I had high expectations and was still blown away. It's HUGE and absolutely stunning. Biggest Metro station so far.
One thing I noticed was the lighting on the platform - it's all from two LED strips that reflect off the roof, a cool effect!

When they work, they take cars off the road, they reduce emissions, they make traveling calmer and simpler, and they become habit forming because the habit is good.’
