🌈BOOK COVERS 🌈
I’ve put all of the book covers I collated onto documents and put the link below! 👇🏻
Some colours have more than others but feel free to add to them!
My latest KS2 Library display ✈️🧳
I have the printed resources saved, so if anybody would like them, let me know! 🙋🏻♀️
I was super fortunate to be sent the glitter hessian by

I was so proud of one of our Y6s today.
He realised he’d got on the wrong bus, ending up other side of the city. Asked a member of the public to call the school to let us know. They helped make sure he was on the right bus back.
He was so calm, so mature and super polite. ♥️
Please RT as lots of people asked and I want to make sure it reaches everyone!
Thanks so much for your patience! Here is the link to the resources:
Any issues let me know!

SUPER excited! Can now officially tell people that after half term I will be Assistant Head, KS1 Phase Leader and English Lead, initially to the end of the year. Slightly nervous, but so excited! 🎉📚
For anyone who followed
@janeconsidine
write stuff sessions, I have created a spreadsheet that allows teachers to filter for sentence scaffolds via lense, author, book, key stage & filter by multiple if needed. Happy to share? It’s in it’s early stages so can add your own on.
An actual conversation between 2 members of my class this morning:
Me: Good morning!
*walk into the staff room*
Child 1: Well, Miss seems in a better mood this morning.
Child 2: Yeah, I think she might have bought a new book.
Best response ever! 😍😂📚
Not forgetting all of our KS1 twitter friends!
To all the Y2 staff and pupils starting their SATs tomorrow:
You’ve got this! You’ve all worked so hard and have had such difficult circumstances over the last two years to compete with. We’re proud of you ❤️
A shoutout to all of the heads and SLT that are so damn tired, with a to-do list as long as your arm, and stress levels at maximum. You’re doing such an amazing job and deserve to be recognised. I just hope your staff recognise it too. 💕💕
The kids found out about me being assistant head today in assembly. I looked over at them & they were all beaming, clapping & giving me thumbs up. When I went back to dismiss them, they seemed as excited about it as I was. We really are a team. They are such a wonderful bunch. 💕

I’ve shared this over on Instagram and people found it useful so thought I’d reshare it here!
I’ve also got the sticker templates if people would like them! 🥰
Was feeling a bit apprehensive about going back tomorrow (nothing school related, just the way I am!) when I got a notification from
@Seesaw
. One of my children had posted a drawing about how excited they are about going back. It reminded me of exactly why I do it! 💕
Still behind on my scrapbook reviews and there are bits I’m not happy with but not too bad on the whole!
Loved the book so thank you to everyone that recommended it! 💛💙
@ThomasHTaylor
I have done some analysis of the 2019 KS2 Reading test and have written down my thoughts. Please feel free to give me your thoughts and feedback - I'm by no means an expert! Feel free to RT!
Absolutely LOVE my ‘Review Crew’ 💙
Seeing kids excited about reading, valuing & treasuring their ‘special books’ makes my heart melt. 🥰
It’s so lovely to see such a range of kids taking part too!
Now to find another display as I have so many! 😬😂
A bit behind but finally put my first review in my scrapbook for school! Really enjoyed this one by
@EleFountain
! Thanks again
@primaryteachew
for the copy! 😍
How amazing is this drawing by one of our Year 5 pupils?! 😱😍
They are currently reading Cogheart by
@peterbunzl
and he brought this in to show us. So proud! 🥰
Would love to give him some praise from others to boost his confidence! ❤️
@Usborne
A year ago today, we were getting married. Right now, husband is on his PS4 and I’m doing an NPQSL assignment. 🙈😂
We’ve agreed to celebrate at a later date and treating ourselves to a takeaway tonight.
Just feeling thankful that our families are well and safe. 💕
Thank you so much for all of the display love 🥰❤️
Lots of people asked for the resources - I’ll upload to Google drive and share the link after the weekend ✨

Do you know what really annoys me?
Me and the OH are both on a bit of a diet before the wedding. This week is the first week.
How much have I lost you ask? 2.5 pounds
How much has he lost? 8.5 pounds 😒
I wouldn’t even mind but I’ve been better this week!!!!
I’m aiming to read 24 books recommend by friends during 2024 so give me all of your book recommendations! 📚👇🏻
*my reading tastes vary a lot so any recommendation welcome!
📚 Open a book, open your mind 📚What a lovely new addition to our wall - I just love this reading display. Thank you to
@TeachingYear6
for the inspiration! 💜
@outwoodeh
I’m so excited to start my Year 5/6 Book Club after half term! 😆 trialling it before possibly doing a Year 3/4 one too!! Any tips or recommendations are most welcome!

@booksfortopics
I’d already shared these on Instagram but forgot to share them here!
Our fabulous staff decorated classroom doors for world book day and I think they did an amazing job 😍🥰❤️ 1/4
If you haven’t already, you have GOT to read this. We’re currently using this in Year 6 for their class text and we literally couldn’t have picked a better story. Our children will relate so much to this.
So moving, but wonderfully hopeful. 🥺😭
@DiscoverKelpies
Accurate representation of how I feel right now. 😩 Anyone else feel the same? I’m hoping it’s the start of year madness that will calm down. Wishful thinking, I know. 😂😂
Anyone else finding they develop a headache during the day? I wake up feeling okay and then by mid afternoon, normally after our daily lunchtime walk, I’m lethargic and have a headache. I’m putting it down to just generally being out of routine 🤷🏻♀️
Best moment of reading Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell so far happened today. Stopped in the middle of a chapter to screams of ‘Nooooooooo!!!!’ 😂📚
@_Reading_Rocks_
Proud moment yesterday when our governors were doing a walk around school and we happened to be discussing books as they walked in. One asked the class their favourite book. Answer: Who Let the Gods Out? By
@MaryAliceEvans
. Said instantly and in unison. It’s our class text.
We have no breaks booked this half term but decided we’d do a few day trips, so today we’re in Stratford-Upon-Avon ✨
Bonus - the sun has come out when we were expecting nothing but rain ☀️
Hit me with your best ‘comprehension’ activities that aren’t your typical comprehension questions! Need some inspiration. All year groups as it’s for me to suggest for staff!
@_Reading_Rocks_
Feeling productive this morning!
- put two loads of washing in
- put one load out to dry
- got through some of the ironing
- got my glasses tightened
- been to the post office
Feeling tired now though! 😂
What are you guys doing today?
I’ve done some analysis of the 2019 KS2 Reading paper if it would be of use to anyone? It’s probably a load of nonsense and waffle but who knows. 🤷🏻♀️😂
Whilst I was on holiday, briefly scrolling through Twitter, I was trying to think of how to respond to the many things that have happened on here recently. Then I decided that it doesn’t deserve my time and energy so instead I want to know the lovely things you’ve been up to! 😊
This is full of my own book reviews for children to read and make decisions on what they would like to choose! Can’t wait to have this in the book corner in September.
Thanks
@_tarasteaching
for this amazing idea ✨📚
I’m changing the way I structure my English lessons this term. I need some high quality extracts to use with my Year 6’s to improve comprehension. I know there’s bound to be a site or something out there. Anybody know of any? Or can recommend some books to get extracts from? 📚
Best of luck for those going back into the classroom tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed that it’s a lovely first day back for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻
And for those that still have a week off (like me), enjoy it! Rest up if you need to, work if you want to, do what feels best for you! 👍🏻
Struggling with a cough and sore throat. Pretty much lost my voice and my chest hurts from coughing so much. Add to this the fact that it’s less than 2 weeks until our wedding and SATs are coming up. Let’s just say I’m feeling very tired 😩😩
One of the main things I loved about Rome was the details you could find in the buildings. ❤️
I mean look at these! 😍 Felt like I spent my whole time looking at ceilings - surprised I haven’t got a bad neck! 😂
I’m so excited (and still in shock!) that I’ve been given the opportunity to be a guest reviewer for
@booksfortopics
! 😆 I literally can’t wait! Thanks guys! 👍🏻📚
Dear Past Self,
Thank you for being so organised and making my job a lot easier.
Many thanks,
Current Self
So glad I used post it’s whilst I was reading this months ago. Can plan from it much more easily now!
@emmac2603
At a time where my stress levels are probably at an all time high, seeing the beaming faces of some of my class in breakfast club this morning really reminds me why it’s worth it. I love the fact that they are just as excited about big moments in my life as I am about theirs. 💕
