The 🇺🇦 MoD has officially confirmed that Ukraine has received land-based Harpoon anti-ship missiles. We don't know the exact version, but I guess that it must be Block-1C or Block 1G. The range of 75 NM will be a deterrent against 🇷🇺 surface assets.

Many people liked and shared but I am sorry to say that this is a wrong analysis. You cannot compare a "tracking" radar with a search radar. Even if the 3P41 (Top Dome) radar was dealing with drone threats, this is a tracking radar, you cannot detect an air threat with it. 1/8

How did the Russians not see the incoming Neptunes? The Moskva has/had a single main air defence radar - a 3P41 Volna phased array to guide S300 missiles. Problem is, it only has a 180 degree field of vision. /11

If a radar can detect a sea skimming missile, it can detect it in any sea state. Of course, sea clutter has an impact on maintaining the track, but the radar can detect the missile and may encounter some difficulties in maintaining the track. 8/8

This incident marks the first UCAV hit to a warship on the real Naval scene. As we mentioned before, UCAVs will be the nightmare of the light combatants which have limited air defence capabilities. The pinpoint accurate hit to FAC is a real success of TB2 and MAM-L munition.

Another issue is about the claim "MR-800 couldn't detect the sea-skimming missile due to the high sea state". This is also wrong because the sea state was 1-2 during the incident. The wave height was around 1 meter. So, there wasn't a tough sea to hide the missile from radar. 6/8
