So many of us have experienced people like Susanna Reid. Those who will say their ‘on your side’ and join you in the office kitchen bitching about how terrible/racist someone is. But then giggle and laugh beside them as they gaslight and berate you for ‘banter’
This is my issue with volunteer tourism and poverty porn. You do this work because YOU want to make it look like YOU are a good person and the work, whilst it may help people, is centred around you, your ego and your white saviour complex
@DavidLammy
Pretty sure these kids weren’t worried about my paleness when I was drilling for water in their village so that their Mum didn’t face the daily 6mile round trip.
Nike Town in Oxford Circus have opened up a new women’s space on the third floor and for the first time have plus sized mannequins modelling sportswear!
All these conversations people keep having about Jaques and his ADHD actually show just how little people know about ADHD and how much people see ADHD solely through the eyes of young yt boys who throw chairs at teachers
I can’t stop thinking about Child Q. The fact the teachers called the police despite already searching her belongings, clearly shows it wasn’t about the suspected cannabis. It was the fact the teachers were mad they couldn’t ‘catch her out’ & wanted to scare her in retaliation
It’s crazy that a masc presenting woman is out here siding with transphobes, because in the eyes of a transphobe, your womanhood is next on the firing line
If you are not a dark skinned black woman, your job is not to tell dark skin black Women how they ‘should feel’ or to dismiss/erase their response to colourism,
But to use your platform to amplify their voices, listen and educate yourself on colourism
The fact you are a headteacher and hold these views is extremely worrying for your Black and POC students, along with the fact that views like this will mean that the teachers at your school will feel safe & protected when they discrimate against students at your school
Axing travel for under 18s is going to have such a massive impact on young people accessing not only schools, but necessary services, youth groups and so much more
6 years ago I was straight and homophobic. Now I am queer and date women. People change, opinions change and so does the language we use. We are constantly unlearning discriminatory language we were taught as young people.
I will never forget the time when I did Dinner dates and before the date, the producers asked me what my type was. I gave a LONG list of Black women.... then when my 'blind' date turned up, she was a white woman who said wag1
Flying myself out to Costa Rica for my 30th for 3 weeks was honestly like living out a love letter to myself. I had the most amazing time and did some of the most amazing experiences and tours.
I wanted to share some of my faves in case anyone is thinking of going 🇨🇷🗺✈️
Today is
#TransDayOfVisibility
Instead of creating infographics to 'show your support' for trans people, put your money where your mouth is and donate to Trans people's gofundme's so they can access health care & necessary surgery. I'll link some below for Black trans folks
I used to fight against my adhd but now I’m just accepting it. Like today? My brain said ‘nah we ain’t doing shit today’ and that’s exactly what I’ve done, shit all
I can’t help but think that every Image I’ve seen taken over the recent protests of a white person protesting is seen as ‘powerful’ meanwhile Black protesters photographed during the BLM uprising were called thugs.
My nan came down from Essex to see the statue today, she started crying when she thought about how proud my Grandad would’ve been to see this. So grateful she could come down ❤️
First of all the obsession with who is dominant/submissive when it comes to queer women’s sex life is weird. Second of all, you can still get dicked down by someone with acrylics xoxo
After a good few months, Ive finally been discharged from the cancer unit 😫 I had to have a biopsy last week because something came up and it came back cancer free 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I’m calling upon community and allies to donate to the ‘Exist Loudly Fund’ I am fundraising £10,000 to support Queer Black Young people here in the UK, both online and in person.
Please share and donate whatever you can
Imagine putting in £2.5bn into building 4 new prisons, instead of putting the money into social services, rehabilitation centres, into creating affordable housing, youth programmes and into eradicating the structures and systems that keep people living in poverty
We're building 4 new prisons to:
⚖️ Improve rehabilitation
📈 Help local economies
🏗️ Support construction industry to invest & innovate
Part of our £2.5bn plan to create 10k additional prison places. Delivering modern prisons & keeping the public safe.
No, because when I complained about my

food arriving late and cold, Your customer service told me they can’t do anything and didn’t even compensate me for the inedible food I received. You can share this exact tweet tho hun x
@TanyaCompas
Hi Tanya, we loved your tweet! Can we have your permission to share it on our social channels? We’d credit you in the image. Our terms are here: . If that’s okay, please reply

Happy international women’s day to Black women, queer women, dark skinned Black women, neurodivergent women, trans women, masc presenting women and all the women who are frequently erased from the womanhood narrative.
STOP filming homeless people as you are giving them food/money/clothes WITHOUT their consent, you may be putting their lives at risk. Many have had to escape domestic violence/sexual violence.Putting them on social media may put them in harms way & into the hands of their attacker
Certain LGBTQ+ publications failing to acknowledge this was also a racist attack whilst certain Black publications are failing to mention it was also a homophobic attack. IT WAS A RACIST & HOMOPHOBIC ATTACK. You can’t acknowledge one and not the other
I can’t emphasise enough please if you’re donating to women’s rights organisations, do your due diligence and ensure that by women’s rights, they mean ALL women’s rights. Not just those who are CIS and heterosexual
Imagine stopping what will most likely be working class and/or Black youth for a little zoot when you’ve got big office men in suits with bags of coke on them on a daily and thinking this is in any way comparable to the harm inflicted on communities
A reminder that YT journalists are watching your threads and pitching your words to their editors, earning themselves £200+ to write on a topic they are not qualified or experienced to write about
I think one reason why people have an issue with Robyn speaking openly about her relationship with Whitney Houston is that they now have to accept that an icon of our lifetime was in fact... a gay
Black people, especially Black women and girls take SO much longer to get diagnosed with ADHD because ADHD still has such a yt and male representation of it. The discussions I’ve seen on here prove just how very little people still know about ADHD
Candice literally has dedicated her career to raising awareness around Black motherhood. Her work has paved the way for these conversations in the UK only to be replaced at the last minute by a lighter skinned media personality who hasn’t previously engaged in these conversations
A reminder that as Black people, you do not need to engage in discourse or debates to justify why our lives matter if you do not have the capacity to do so. Sometimes the best thing you can do is log out and take care of yourself.

UK Parliament has the highest number of lesbian, gay & bi MPs in the world after
#GE2019
but sadly still no trans MPs.

P.s. Conservative total is actually 21

People think that because someone is a ‘teacher’ it means they are well intentioned and care about young people. But a lot of them don’t, outside of the label of teacher, they exist as individuals who bring their racist & discriminatory beliefs with them into the classroom
My current workplace has been awful for my mental health so I have decided to leave my job. I am therefore looking for freelance work opportunities in youth work, charity consultation, young engagement, public speaking and writing. HIT ME UP
I’ve proper enjoyed
#BlackToFront
… but it’s really made me think about how much of an ACTIVE choice it is for mainstream media to exclude black faces and stories from their programming
Everyone is an ‘Ally’ in the workplace until it comes to standing up to your manager or calling out discrimination in the work place. They’ll be happy for you to be the spokesperson for all discrimination but will be the first to run when they actively have to stand beside you
So the head of press at Go Fund Me have emailed me to say they were moved by the Exist Loudly Fund and want to share it with their media contacts!!! MAD MAD MAD
The reality is that all of the major LGBTQ+ organisations in the UK are white run and have predominantly white teams. They also tend to hold the monopoly on funding/donations over pride season. Consider donating to Black & POC led LGBTQ+ organisations this pride season
We actually have to stop the romanticising relationships with women who date and sleep with other women. Women can still be toxic, misogynistic, violent and captains of the patriarchy.
Are we ever going to discuss the fact that the body positive and beauty campaigns/movements often exclude masculine presenting women? As though you can only be beautiful or love your body if you are feminine presenting?
Especially the being silly part, I could be at a house party and people will be like “where’s Tanya” and they’ll find me somewhere playing the kids or animals 🤣 because I get too bored/restless sitting down
This is such a dangerous narrative. As a mixed raced person who grew up in a household that ‘doesn’t see colour’ I can’t emphasise enough that you SEE your daughters colour and you have conversations around race, rather complete negate it
@narcicismo
I try to put myself in their shoes &maybe they were brought up in a different type of household then I was. So instead of shaming I try to educate. In our household we do not see color. We see emotion and action. We see love. We feed off of energy
