Highlighting the best HS sports program in America, your Pickerington Central Tigers!┃Opinions are my own & not the views of my employer.┃
🔥My Jesus Story⬇
They did it! They did it! 45-game winning streak won't get to 46.
Pickerington Central wins the 2022 D1 State Championship, 55-48. Folks, it don't get much better than that!
I've said since January PC would beat Centerville in the final game of the year!
Championship DNA!
⬇️That’s my Mr. Basketball.
Devin Royal is the best “player” in Ohio. Proved it every night. Beat Gahanna twice and was at his very best when it mattered most on the biggest stage. I’m not sure sure that can be disputed.
Fans & communities get spoiled, and I feel like I have a unique perspective. I moved to Pickerington in the summer of 2009, so I know what it's like to be around, near, and part of other communities and programs. This 20-year run wasn't normal!
This was sent to me last night...
Would like to congratulate our neighbors from Bloom-Carroll. Moved up a division, lost their head coach, graduated a great senior class and returned to The Final Four last night. Very underrated sports program in Ohio!
I will never be a fan of basketball being played on the same night your football team (any team for that matter) is playing for a trip to the state finals. Don’t make kids choose. Reschedule the November hoop game. To me, it sends a message that we aren’t a collective unit.
Picktown, yesterday, we lost one of our own in Juan Elmore Jr (2018 Graduate). Please pray that his family, friends, loved ones, and former teammates will find some comfort & peace in this storm.
The thing about Josh Harlan that some may not know is there were different games along the tourney trail where his minutes were reduced depending how other guys were playing or the situation. As a senior, the kid never pouted, he just delivered on the biggest stage.
#stayready
Congratulations to Devin Royal on earning 1st Team All-Ohio honors.
I didn't have a vote, but he's my D1 POY and Mr. Basketball winner. His resume speaks for itself.
Pickerington Central will try to join Canton McKinley (05-06), Moeller (18-19), and Elder (73-74) as the only teams to ever win back-2-back championships in AAA or Division 1 dating back to 1971.
Folks, this is rarified air! Never, ever take this for granted.
How many people on planet Earth can make this claim?

Pickerington Central grabs the 2022 Boy's State Track Title. Its 3rd Gold Trophy in 4 seasons. Troy Lane wins the 100 (record 10.25) & 200, and the 4x1 finished 1st as well and the 4x4 gets 8th (the deciding point).
One more for the trophy case! Better start building a new one.
I’m not looking to rain on anyone’s victory parade, but 7-on-7’s and Friday nights are not the same sport.
When the pads come on and the Oline/Dline are inserted, things change quicker than the stock market.
When you look up the definition of a football player, this guy would be at the top of the list. One of my all-time favorite Tigers leading Findlay in tackles despite missing two games for the (8-3) Oilers.
Let it be known at many high schools this kid could’ve been a really good and productive player. He chose to be a part of something bigger than himself. He will forever be a state champ and every bit as important and part of the DNA of this program. You need a Drew Osler!
Attended my first state tournament in 1987 as a 6th grader and dreamed of being part of a state champion team. It wasn’t in the cards for me, but tonight I got to watch my son walk off as a state champ in his last HS game ever. 2022 will always be my favorite HS final four.
I have no doubt Jay and the staff will regroup this team and I fully expect this team to be playing in late November. Tigers dropped a tough Week 4 game in 2019 to Groveport, but remember how that story ended?
@PCtigerfootball
#championshipprogram
Another year and yet another regional final! Not done yet!
@PCtigerfootball
6-straight regional final appearances. The Tigers have won their previous 5 regional final games!
Championship DNA!
There are so many kids in Pickerington doing amazing things not just in athletics, but in music, arts, serving and many other aspects of life! As a adults let’s continue to inspire and encourage them to be world changers no matter where their feet may be.
Pickerington Central down 14-7 to Cincinnati Elder in the final minutes of the 3rd quarter for the D-I title. 4th-and-10. And QB Demeatric Crenshaw did THIS. One of the greatest plays in Ohio championship history.
@lilmeechie_king
With all the hoopla around the hoop squad, let’s not forget Brennen Cernus will wrestle for the 126-pound state championship tomorrow against Coffman’s Omar Ayoub.
Never bet against Cernus!
If you think Division 2 and FCS are less than, see the 4 studs (Imboden, Walker, Kamara, & Pearson) that just signed this week with Ashland and Bucknell. You have to be really, really good to play at any level in college especially D2 and FCS.
It was another great season of
@PCtigerfootball
. This team overcame and accomplished a lot. Coach Sharrett and his staff got the most out of this team. OCC Title, 9 wins, & regional semis. Don’t ever take what we have for granted! This isn’t normal, trust me!
August yet?
I would be remiss if I didn't give Andrew Hedgepeth & Markell Johnson some love. Both kids came off the bench and gave huge minutes for the Tigers. Johnson is a microwave and Hedgepeth did a great job with his length on D and kept UA honest with his ability to make shots.
6-straight Final 4s, 2 state titles, 1 runner-up in the past 6 season to go with an (8-1) record this fall losing by a FG in OT in a game the Tigers led 10-0 with 1:41 to play.
Ranked 9th? 🤔😂😁
If you ride with us on the mountain top, you better be there in the valley when adversity hits! Great programs like
@PCtigerfootball
learn, grow, and will come out better & more motivated on the other side. Look around and see who is there when you are in the valley!
#GoTigers
Really excited for the Bloom-Carroll community that will get to experience its first football state championship game next Friday at Tom Benson Stadium in Canton against Canfield.
Back-to-back Final 4 appearances in 2020/2021, and now it’s time to bring back the Gold trophy.
@Rasheembiles
is ranked 31st in Ohio according to
@247Sports
. Call me biased, call me whatever you would like, but there is a 0% chance 30 football players in Ohio are better than him. Would put his playmaking ability against anyone. Save this tweet 😉
Devin Royal’s final 2 games this weekend in Orlando, he was 18-of-28 from the field for 37 points,
@all_ohio
finished (2-2) to open up league play. Real solid start!
I will be highly surprised if Royal doesn’t have more “major” offers by the end of spring.
Fun fact:
Pickerington Central will try and become only the 2nd big school (public) to win back-2-back state championships since 1971 when the OHSAA went to 3 divisions (4 in 1988) joining only Canton McKinley (05 & 06).
Elder (73-74) & Moeller (18-19) are the only others.

will play for a state championship today, 10 years following its only boy's basketball title.
Today, you have a chance to cement your place into history. Leave no doubt!
I hope the successor can keep the train on the tracks, but simply having talent doesn't win championships. The culture of
@PCtigerfootball
was every bit as important as all the trophies in the case!
Congratulations to Brennen Cernus on his runner-up finish at 126 pounds. The senior finished with a record of (33-4).
Placing in any division let alone D1 is no joke. Well done young man!
Final observations:
1) D is ahead of the O at this point which is to be expected. D is stingy as usual.
2) Offense has a high ceiling. Timing is just not there yet.
3) Loved Canal’s competitiveness. Should be real solid in D2.
4) Dom Shaw is really under the radar.
Today marks the 5-year anniversary of
@PCtigerfootball
first state football championship. That night still seems surreal. It's one of those sporting events, as a fan, where time stands still and its euphoria. Not only was it a special team, but a special group of guys.

🏆
Electric atmosphere tonight at PC as the Tigers and Africentric closed the night in front of an overflowing crowd.
Tigers came away with a hard-earned victory.
Royal and Swain both had their moments of shine in this one, and really loved Keuchler on the interior tonight.
Tough outcome for
@NDFootball
, but tremendous outing for the true frosh today
@LorenzoStyles_
. 8 catches for 136 yards and touchdown. Could’ve been more as well. Bright future!
Incredible job by the
@PCTigersGirlsBB
coaching staff of trusting the process after a (2-6) start to the season. Brutal schedule early prepared this team for a yet another District Title. 2 Sophs and a Frosh logging a bunch of minutes isn’t easy against that type of competition!
If Power 5 football schools aren’t soon beating down
@Rasheembiles
door, I will be shocked.
Turn on the film and trust what you see.
#elite
He brings that same athleticism and effort on the hardwood.
Sonny Styles has once again found a way to dominate both ends of the floor without having to score. One of the most unique players I’ve ever witnessed.
Pick Central’s 12 points given up this year:
✅ Safety
✅ TD pass on 4th & 18 in JV time
✅ Field Goal following a drive which started at the PC 29-yard-line
Offensively, the 209 points could be significantly higher. Starters yet to play much of 2nd half and running clock.
Arguably the most valuable performance from yesterday’s district final matchups came from Pickerington Central’s Amare Spiva, who made a major impact on both ends of the court ‼️
@AmareSpiva
@PCTigersHoops
It’s hard to believe I’m even typing this, but this team is flying under the radar a bit after losing several top-end kids from a year ago. Outside of the PC circle, I’m not sure people realize how deep & talented this senior is for the Tigers. Kids just waiting their turn!
Not surprising
@PCtigerfootball
was able to capture its first state title back in 2017 with guys like
@Xhenn5
leading the way. Talented? Sure! High character? No doubt!
Another huge weekend for
@PCTigersGirlsBB
@PCTigersHoops
. Sweep of Newark, girls knock off one of the best teams in the state in Cincinnati Princeton, and the boys come from behind to beat a talented Cincinnati Taft team.
#Picktown
Big day for Troy Lane and the 4x1 squad. Lane in the 100 and 200, and part of the 4x1 team. All have a legitimate chance to bring home Golds to PickeRINGton.
You’re looking at Notre Dame’s projected No. 1 wideout, sophomore Lorenzo Styles.
“I’ve always felt like a No. 1 wide receiver,” Styles said. “Now it’s time to go show everyone what I can do.”
Pickerington Central down 14-7 to Cincinnati Elder in the final minutes of the 3rd quarter for the D-I title. 4th-and-10. And QB Demeatric Crenshaw did THIS. One of the greatest plays in Ohio championship history.
@lilmeechie_king
Sophomore Berry Wallace & junior Madison Greene both earn 2nd Team All-Ohio honors.
@PCTigersGirlsBB
will have a great opportunity to return to the mountain top in 2023.
The reason I truly believed in Janurary this team could get it done was its team chemistry. Sure, they have good players, but you aren’t winning a D1 State🏆& beating a team like Centerville with just good players. This team was together & connected, and truly enjoyed each other.
Pick Central rolls past Reynoldsburg tonight, 75-56, in its regular season finale.
Super happy for Andrew Hedgepeth, who had himself a night on senior night. RJ Keuchler continues to shine and Royal was Royal.
Tigers forced more turnovers than Betty Crocker.
Any
@PCTigersHoops
fan that showed up tonight at Centerburg deserve preferential seating the rest of the way.
Sending the No. 1 seed in the entire district an hour away for a district semifinal is…interesting.
Mr. Consistent
@nmosley_
scored 6 rushing TDs last night. The last time a Tiger scored 6 TDs in a game? You already know...
@lilmeechie_king
dropping a 6-spot in the 2017 State Title Game.
A play that won’t show up in the box score or get mentioned in any story but was a huge play occurred when Eli Coppess gave everything he had to dive and get a piece of Mantooth’s feet tripping him up on the final drive. May have scored or at least got it much closer. Effort play
Like what I saw from Mantooth. Throws a real nice ball, accurate, and on time. Does a nice job of keeping it simple. As he gets more comfortable, I’m looking forward to seeing where he is at by conference play. First varsity start at Massillon. That’s why you play at PC!
@PCtigerfootball
will have one of if not the best D-Lines in the state of Ohio. I was messing around with some edits and this was my first attempt (I will improve). Gillison will be
#2
, Doggette will be
#6
, Frazier will be
#7
, & I'm assuming Gorman will be
#11
again.
Pick Central, with the win today, has now won 9 district titles in 12 seasons.
2 state title and 4 regional championships since 2012.
Really incredible!
Was able to make it over for Senior Night. Another big night for the Tigers despite being a bit shorthanded. Senior Drew Osler nailed two treys early and PC never looked back in routing Lancaster. That is 17-straight!
Regular season finale at Reynoldsburg next Friday.
Pick Central boy’s track & field going for its 4th state championship in 5 years (2020 meet cancelled).
Troy Lane trying to repeat in the 100 & 200 meter dashes.
I say it quite frequently, per capita, there isn’t a better sports city in America!
I will say this with 💯 confidence: no one and I mean no one in the state of Ohio can cover like our guys in high school football. Zo, Sonny, Smith, Sanders, and Wills completely locked up the WC potent receivers.
#noflyzone
STATE CHAMPS!!! Our Pickerington Special Olympics Team has brought home another title!!! Congrats to our school age team on winning today! Let’s continue to spread the word about our PHENOMENAL athletes and program!
