אחת התופעות שהכי קשה לי להבין היא כתבי טכנולוגיה שסולדים מהתקדמות טכנולוגית. הסלידה מוסברת לעיתים בגלל התנגשות עם אג׳נדות מסוימות או נוסטלגיה לזמנים טובים יותר. הרבה פעמים מונעת מרצון להיות הראשונים לפוצץ בועה מדומיינת. אבל רוב הזמן זה מרגיש לי כמו לודיזם.

אחד הדברים הטובים שיצאו מהרפורמה המשוקצת הזאת היא קיעקוע המוסכמה השקרית שההתנתקות הייתה טעות. לא היה לנו מה לחפש שם מלכתחילה. יותר מידי חיילים ואזרחים איבדו את חייהם לטובת מפעל ההתנחלות המטורף שנמשך לאורך זמן ארוך מידי.

אז אמרנו שתחום ה-VR בכלל ואוקולוס בפרט לא באמת הצדיקו את הציפיות מהן עד ממש לאחרונה, אז מה השתנה? רק הנקודה הזאת יכולה להצדיק שרשור נפרד, אבל אפשר להסתפק כרגע באמירה הבאה: אנחנו נמצאים בתחילתו של תהליך הבשלה ו- Convergence ברוב הטכנולוגיות הדרושות בכדי ליצור את ה- Oasis.
