Engines 5 and 8 had the opportunity to visit the Summer Learning Program at Central and Oakdale Elementary schools. In addition to talking about fire safety, they also enjoyed some water fun!
The Safe Haven Baby box is now open at Fire Station 1. The box is a safety device that legally permits a mother in crisis to safely, securely, and anonymously surrender if they are unable to care for their newborn. In Alabama, the newborn can be surrendered up to 45 days old.
In Jan. 2024, Brian Ricks was discovered in cardiac arrest at work. TFR and Northstar responded, successfully resuscitating him after being in cardiac arrest for at least 16 minutes. He has recovered & got the chance to meet the crews that were instrumental in saving his life.❤️
Yesterday afternoon TFR responded to the report of structure fire on Woodbanks Way. When crews arrived on scene they found a two story house fully involved. There were no injuries and the fire is currently under investigation.
