Firefighters from Brockman Station 66 in Beaverton stopped to help a panicked mama duck reunite with several of her ducklings, who had fallen into a storm drain. They were all pulled to safety and did not have any injuries, thankfully. 🦆🚒

Helvetia Chicken Coop Update: Our investigator confirmed a heat lamp ignited combustibles in the coop. Minimal fire damage to the barn. All chickens escaped safely! Interviews with the chickens also confirmed they did not form a "coup." They are happy chickens. 😁🐔

Firefighters are responding to a farm off Helvetia Rd where a chicken coup caught fire and was spreading to the barn. Crews have quick knockdown on the fire. No other animals were in the barn. Property owner believes the chickens were able to escape.

Firefighters from Station 53 were called to rescue a cat stuck in a toilet this morning. Dutch the cat went in for a little drink and somehow got a back leg stuck. Dutch's owner couldn't free him, but the crew on Engine 53 had some ideas and quickly liberated this frantic feline.

Final Update: The hang glider was reached and safely lowered roughly 150 feet to the ground with the help and skill of our Heavy Rescue Tech Team. No injuries have been reported. When the patient reached the forest floor, a big smile and thumbs up was given to all crew members.

NE Mountain Top Road in Newberg is currently closed as firefighters work to free a hang glider stuck in tree tops. The hang glider reports no injuries and will be thoroughly evaluated once back on solid ground. Please avoid the area.

A concerned citizen let the crew at TVF&R's Raleigh Hills Station know a dog was running loose nearby. Firefighters were able to leash the white and grey "husky-mix" and a facilities worker stayed with it until animal control arrived. We hope this pup finds it's home soon!

Horse Rescue Video: Under the supervision of the veterinarian, the horse was incrementally shuttled to the top of the hill using wide straps and a vehicle mounted winch. The horse’s head was carefully supported by firefighters to avoid further stressing “Magic.”

It’s not just people who sometimes need a rescue! This afternoon, our crews successfully rescued a puppy that got stuck about 35 feet down an embankment in Charbonneau. Crews used ropes to help carry him back up. He is now safely reunited with his owner. Great job all involved!

Beaverton Station 67 unveiled their new (more efficient) fire engine today, placing it in traditional ‘push-in’ form that dates back to horse-drawn fire apparatus days. It comes with a smaller wheel base, improved exhaust emissions, LED lighting and a rear hose deployment set up.

Last week, Station 62s crew rescued this sweet girl, Elsa, after she fell 20 feet down into an old well when the boards covering the well gave out. They were able to get a rope around her to pull her to safety. She was one tired but happy pup when she reunited with her family.

Engine 60 was called to rescue a 15lb dog named Batman who had made his way into a vent and was stuck in the ducting of the house. Firefighter Pine worked his way into the crawlspace under the house and was able to get a tired but happy Batman back to safety. #AnimalRescue

With so many people in our service area affected by power outages we would like to remind you that propane heaters, cooktops and bbq’s should never be used indoors. Those appliance give off deadly carbon monoxide gas which is colorless and odorless and can kill you if used inside

Chehalem Mtn-Bald Peak Fire Update: FFs are still patrolling & working to put out hot spots. Despite rain, there are still dangerous areas. Level 2 evacuation warnings remain in place. Ground crews are cutting down dangerous trees. If you see fire burning unattended, call 911.

This morning crews from TVF&R, @HillsboroFire & @BanksFire headed to Central Oregon for approx 72 hours as part of a @OSFM team. Thunderstorms are expected in that area, so this is a proactive stage requested by the state to help local resources in the event a wildfire breaks out

Huntwood Ct. update: Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, limiting damage to the home. While searching inside, Apparatus Operator Stewart found Josie in a bathroom where she accidentally closed the door on herself. She is doing great and happy to be back with her family.
