24 days ago I learned my daughter was dying in utero, and if untreated I risked preeclampsia and stroke. Termination is illegal in NC after 21 weeks, which I was, even when she had no hope of surviving and I was in danger. Because I had the means to leave, I’m ok and recovering.

I was overcome with fear for the safety of my husband. I remember FaceTiming Brittany Swalwell, both of us in tears as we tried to piece together what was happening and confirm the safety of our husbands. Both of us getting sporadic texts confirming they were still okay.

PCOS is a far too common hormone imbalance that causes infertility, significant weight gain, and fatigue. This was the root of my problem - at least I had answers. She sent me to an AMAZING fertility doctor who explained to me what was going on and made me feel hopeful again.

Finally I received a call back where my doctor told me since Ruben had already had a child he wasn’t “the culprit” and that I just needed to keep trying. Luckily, I was able to find a new doctor who ran tests and discovered that I have severe PCOS
