Today I woke as normal, by 12:30 I was informed I have stage 5 invasion melanoma. By 3:30 I was in a specialist consultants room. Right now I’m lost.

Today is my 51st birthday 12 months ago I wasn’t diagnosed with grade 5 melanoma, but it was there. I wasn’t diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, but all the symptoms were there. I was married, he left me after 27 years. BUT life is good, I’m happy.

Dating when you have a chronic medical issue like MS is difficult. Finding your worth after 27 years of marriage and being discarded is difficult. I’m for ever worried that I’m not good enough, I have little to offer. I over think, I push people away.

True.. a year ago I was diagnosed with Melanoma, multiple sclerosis and my husband of 27 years left. I didn’t think I could be this strong but here I am laughing, smiling and enjoying every moment.

Guess what chickie babe is being discharged from hospital on Friday ?? This one. Yesterday I walked 10,000 steps. I still have the NDIS paperwork to do and the purchase of a few walking aids. But I feel like an old Holden that someone has found in a paddock and done up.

It’s rare I have a rant. But here it goes. I have MS, every month I inject myself with a variation of chemotherapy, it hopefully will enable me to keep walking and functioning. I’m immunosuppressed and Im over those are against vaccinations that don’t giving a shit about others.

Painted these rocks for the group of people I walk on the beach daily. It’s a symbol of our bond and love for each other. The rocks were found on ‘our beach’ all different shapes and sizes but all connected, like the people that they are for.

So lunch was pleasant enough. I ordered a prawn pasta. We have 2 adult children together. It’s important to me that things are civil. We will always be part of our shared child ten’s life. Although it’s over for us, we will always be their parents.

I tidied myself up, got my new wizzding walker and saw how my dog would walk with it. She’s a champion, we had no problems at all. I enjoyed a coffee, she looked for rabbits. It’s a 6500 step round trip.

Today I found out my MS has not progressed in 12 months. I have 3 lesions on my brain, the MRI showed no new lesions. The Kesimpta injections are doing their job. I need to ensure this magic medication that suppresses my immune isn’t allowing the melanoma cells to reappear.

A few of the the close people I know are aware of the rough time I’ve been having. On Tuesday after battling months of back pain and x which leg weekness which I put down to being an old nurse I was diagnosed with MS.

Since my diagnosis of #MS I’ve done my best to appreciate and enjoy life. I have a much different approach. I’m selective on who I spend time with and are trying to be gentle on myself. Fatigue is real and so are the crazy emotions. I felt good last night.

10am.. walked 2.5 Km, climbed 10 flights of stairs. Completed the strength exercise program set out by the physiotherapist.. Not bad for a chick who 2 weeks ago couldn’t use her right leg. Taking on MS like a wild, warrior, woman.

@PKMfantasies @ask_aubry Needed to go to the hospital, couldn’t drive as right leg paralysed. Husband of 27 years told me “I’m leaving you for good and you are no longer my problem” . I got to the hospital and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. My ex is no longer my problem.

I had a great grandfather who was a light horse man, a grandfather who was in the pacific in WW2. An uncle in Vietnam who they waited to return to be my godfather. They never participated in ANZAC day, they also never really talked about it. Lest we forget

Today I had a visit from Charlotte. Not only did she make my day but she smiled and waved to every patient as she walked past their rooms bringing so much joy. I think the rehab ward needs weekly Charlotte therapy ❤️
